That day in Warsaw it was cloudy and it was lightly raining. I was walking around the center and thought I would show you some famous places. The first is Saviour Square. Its name comes from the Church of the Holy Saviour located in this place. Currently, the church is undergoing renovation and it cannot be seen in all its glory. It is a pity, because it looks beautiful without all the scaffolding that surrounds it. In addition, there are several historic tenement houses and fashionable restaurants on the Saviour Square.
Tego dnia w Warszawie było pochmurno i lekko padało. Spacerowałam po centrum i pomyślałam, że pokażę wam kilka znanych miejsc. Pierwszym z nich jest Plac Zbawiciela. Jego nazwa pochodzi od znajdującego się w tym miejscu Kościoła Najświętszego Zbawiciela. Obecnie kościół jest remontowany i nie można go zobaczyć w całej okazałości. Szkoda, bo bez tych wszystkich rusztowań, które go teraz otaczają pięknie wygląda. Poza tym przy Placu Zbawiciela znajduje się kilka zabytkowych kamienic i modne restauracje.
In a nearby building belonging to the Marszałkowska Dzielnica Mieszkaniowa (MDM) housing estate, I noticed huge socialist realist sculptures. One of them showed a young man with a brick and putty knife. The workman had his shirt unbuttoned and the sleeves rolled high, showing a muscular chest and shoulders.
Na pobliskim budynku należącym do Marszałkowskiej Dzielnicy Mieszkaniowej (MDM) zauważyłam ogromne socrealistyczne rzeźby. Jedna z nich przedstawiała młodego mężczyznę z cegłą i szpachlą. Robotnik miał rozpiętą koszulę i wysoko podwinięte rękawy, które ukazywały muskularną klatkę piersiową i ramiona.
The next sculptures showed a woman with a child and a soldier.
Na kolejnych rzeźbach można zobaczyć kobietę z dzieckiem i żołnierza.
The last sculpture I saw shows a mother with a child. There are eight such sculptures in the area. The next time I am there I will look at the next one.
Ostatnia rzeźba, którą zauważyłam przedstawia matkę z dzieckiem. Takich rzeźb w okolicy jest osiem. Gdy będę tam następnym razem przyjrzę się kolejnym.
And this is Constitution Square in Warsaw. Huge candelabras and buildings built in the socialist realist style are characteristic here.

And these are several beautiful tenement houses that can be seen a little further, in the vicinity of Plac Na Rozdrożu.
