old towns are always something special for me, too. i prefer to look at them than to walk through other, modern parts of town. there is so much history in them. I didn't know Nice had so many inhabitants!

Yeah the historic architecture and details are a lot more interesting than the modern parts of the city. Modern can be really cool though when it's futuristic or when a place prides itself for its modern architecture. But France isn't really one of those places.
I noticed that too as I explored a bit more Cologne, the older parts of the city really draw you in but the Mosque has been my favorite so far.
