You know that feeling when you're acutely aware that the adventure clock is ticking down? That's precisely how I felt on that day. Sure, we still had half a day left before bidding farewell to the island, but the separation anxiety was already kicking in.
Bright and early at 5 AM, we roused ourselves to wish @chicharyaa a fabulous birthday. Our plan? To catch the sunrise spectacle at Cloud9, rumored to be nothing short of breathtaking.
We zoomed towards Cloud9, hoping to beat the sunrise rush. After paying the entrance fee of Php 100 per person (valid for the whole day), we dashed straight for the beach.
As we strolled along the boardwalk, the sun began its glorious ascent, painting the sky with hues of gold. Ah, sunrises! Though I might be a tad biased, given my fondness for sunsets, especially those in Boracay and Malapascua Island.

The beach was a vision of paradise, with palm trees swaying in the gentle breeze. Kudos to the local government for maintaining that quintessential island vibe at Cloud9.

Naturally, we seized the moment for a photoshoot frenzy before our island hopping escapade summoned us.

I couldn't resist sneaking off to explore the area around the palm trees for a fresh perspective. Imagine lounging there with a book or simply soaking in the serenity. Ah, someday soon, I vow to return for a slower, more laid-back island experience.

With breakfast cravings kicking in, we dashed to a nearby karenderia for a budget-friendly feast.
Back at our accommodation, we gathered our island-hopping essentials. Promptly at 8 AM, the van rolled up, and we were off to the port to rendezvous with our tour guide and hop aboard our island hopping boat.

Setting sail from the port, our first stop was Guyam Island, a picturesque gem just 15 minutes away. With its circular shape, coconut tree-fringed shores, and a cozy cafe serving up coffee and burgers, it was the epitome of island charm.

Despite the crowd, we soaked up the island vibes, though I found solace in the shade of a cottage for most of the time.

After an hour of island bliss, it was on to our next destination, a nameless spot (or maybe I just forgot the name, LOL) with shallow sandy patches and coral reefs.

Perfect for a quick dip and snorkel session, though the blazing sun drove us back to the boat sooner than expected.

Next up? The aptly named Naked Island—a sandy expanse devoid of shade. A sunbather's dream, though admittedly scorching! The crystal-clear waters called out to us, yet some of us couldn't resist the allure of a photoshoot over a swim.

Okay, next, we got super hungry after all the picture-taking sessions and snorkeling, so we decided to head to our last destination, Daku Island, where our lunch awaited. With its expansive sandy shores, dotted with local fishing boats, it was the ideal spot to feast and unwind.
As expected, they arranged the rice with the word 'Siargao' amidst all the dishes, presenting it beautifully. We wasted no time and indulged in the delicious spread they had prepared.
My options were limited as I'm not a big fan of seafood, except for shrimp. LOL. Luckily, they also grilled some pork and chicken, or I would have starved. Haha.
Post-feast, we lounged at the cottage, soaking in the island ambiance. Some frolicked in the waves, while I opted for a leisurely afternoon under the shade of our cottage.
Later on, some of us decided to explore the island. We found this place with coconut trees where there were fewer tourists and had a photo-taking session there. I quite liked that spot, as the beach was much closer to some cottages.

As the clock struck 2 PM, signaling the end of our island-hopping extravaganza, we reluctantly bid adieu to Daku Islands' charms. Though there were more islands on my wishlist, time wasn't on our side. Perhaps on our next visit, Sohoton Cove and Corregidor Island will be within reach.
Arriving back on the main island, we contemplated squeezing in a visit to Catangnan Bridge, aka Afam Bridge, but alas, that's a tale for another time.
In retrospect, despite the occasional crowds, our Siargao escapade was a blast. After all, who can resist the allure of its island vibes? ✨
