Tenho estado mais ausente, pois estou a terminar a licença de maternidade e a implementar novas rotinas para mim e para a bebé. No final do dia, é inevitável o misto de emoções, entre a tristeza de não estar 24 horas com ela e a satisfação de retomar a minha identidade profissional. Espero que ambas nos adaptemos bem.
Bom, hoje trago-vos uma partilha sobre um fim de semana que passei em Verona. Anteriormente partilhei convosco a experiência que vivi nesta cidade de assistir a uma ópera no Coliseu e hoje venho dar-vos a conhecer esta maravilhosa cidade.

I've been away more, as I'm finishing my maternity leave and implementing new routines for myself and the baby. At the end of the day, it's inevitable that I'll feel a mix of emotions, between the sadness of not being with her 24 hours a day and the satisfaction of getting back to my professional identity. I hope we both adapt well.
Well, today I'm sharing with you a story about a weekend I spent in Verona. Previously, I shared with you the experience I had in this city, watching an opera at the Colosseum, and today I'm here to show you around this wonderful city.
Verona is a city that stretches along the banks of the Adige River. I spent two days exploring its streets and, in addition to its architectural beauty, the city also transports us to literature, as it is known for being the setting for Shakespeare's famous novel, Romeo and Juliet.
No primeiro dia, exploramos o famoso e imponente anfiteatro romano, a Arena de Verona. É fácil sentirmo-nos pequenos diante de tal grandiosa obra. Imagino que a arena foi decerto palco de risos e lágrimas, suor e morte. Apesar de construída no século I d.C. permanece intocável e guarda dentro de si mais histórias que qualquer um de nós viverá. Penso que a ideia que nos fica sobre este tipo de monumentos, é uma dualidade entre o efémero e o eterno, nós somos efémeros, mas as construções são um legado das antigas gerações às futuras.
On the first day, we explored the famous and imposing Roman amphitheatre, the Arena of Verona. It is easy to feel small in the face of such a grandiose work. I imagine that the arena was certainly the scene of laughter and tears, sweat and death. Despite being built in the 1st century AD, it remains untouched and holds within itself more stories than any of us will ever experience. I think that the idea that we are left with about this type of monument is a duality between the ephemeral and the eternal; we are ephemeral, but the buildings are a legacy from past generations to future ones.
Após a Arena, decidi ir até a Casa de Julieta, que se tornou um ícone do amor imortalizado pela obra de Shakespeare.
Este local que fica numa rua discreta, é um verdadeiro ponto turístico da cidade e vão com certeza encontra-lo em qualquer altura do ano que o visitem bastante frequentado.
Se é verdade que aquela era a casa de Julieta e que existe um fundo de verdade no clássico shakesperiano, não sei, o que sei é que independentemente da personalidade ou do sentido de vida de cada um, acredito que no fundo, todos queremos acreditar no Amor e encontrar alguém que compartilhe não só os nossos sonhos mas também os nossos medos.
É possível visitar a casa e subir ao Balcão onde Julieta fez as suas promessas a Romeu, um verdadeiro altar para os turistas, que deixam cartas e desejos nas suas paredes.
After the Arena, I decided to go to Juliet's House, which has become an icon of love immortalized by Shakespeare's work.
This place, located on a discreet street, is a true tourist attraction in the city and you will certainly find it very popular at any time of the year.
I don't know if it is true that this was Juliet's house and that there is some truth to the Shakespearean classic. What I do know is that regardless of one's personality or sense of purpose in life, I believe that deep down, we all want to believe in Love and find someone who shares not only our dreams but also our fears.
You can visit the house and go up to the Balcony where Juliet made her promises to Romeo, a true altar for tourists, who leave letters and wishes on its walls.
No fundo, Verona, preservou e irradia, como um símbolo de amor, que na tragédia ganhou força e eternidade.
In the end, Verona preserved and radiated as a symbol of love, which in tragedy gained strength and eternity.
No segundo dia, caminhei tranquilamente, explorando a Piazza delle Erbe, o coração da cidade, onde anteriormente era o Mercado da Cidade, hoje é o centro social e cultural da cidade. O ambiente é vibrante com muitas lojas e cafés, tornando-a excelente para deambular e respirar cada momento do quotidiano italiano.
On the second day, I walked around at a leisurely pace, exploring Piazza delle Erbe, the heart of the city, where the City Market used to be, and today it is the city’s social and cultural hub. The atmosphere is vibrant with many shops and cafes, making it a great place to wander around and take in every moment of Italian life.
Por fim, subi à Torre dei Lamberti, com seus imponentes 84 metros de altura. Originalmente construída como um farol para os viajantes, a torre oferece uma vista deslumbrante da cidade e do rio, proporcionando uma perspetiva única que não se pode obter apenas caminhando pelas ruas
Finally, I climbed the imposing 84-meter-high Torre dei Lamberti. Originally built as a lighthouse for travelers, the tower offers stunning views of the city and the river, providing a unique perspective that can’t be obtained simply by walking the streets.
Deambular por Verona, não foi apenas um passeio turístico; foi uma jornada filosófica, uma imersão nas questões universais que nos afligem desde sempre: o significado da vida, a natureza do amor, o impacto do tempo e o desejo de transcendência. Como Verona, as nossas vidas são construídas sobre os vestígios do que foi, mas sempre em movimento, sempre à procura de algo além.
A cidade é lindíssima, cheia de história e apesar da ter visitado sem inicialmente grande expectativa, confesso que tornou-se das minhas favoritas em Itália.
Wandering through Verona was not just a sightseeing tour; it was a philosophical journey, an immersion into the universal questions that have plagued us since the beginning of time: the meaning of life, the nature of love, the impact of time and the desire for transcendence. Like Verona, our lives are built on the vestiges of what was, but always in motion, always searching for something beyond.
