Living in a city means being surrounded by noise, hustle, and chaos. Suppose you're in Valencia, Venezuela, and want to escape all of this without needing to go far and live a different day. In that case, I recommend taking the Casupo-Café route, which consists of approximately 14 km of steep terrain, and where at times you may need to do some climbing.
I had wanted to do this route for a while, which spans two municipalities, Casupo in Valencia, and El Café in Naguanagua, but I didn't know about it until I found a guide. We arrived at the meeting point at 8:00 am, which is El Casupo Park, a place where many people from the city gather to exercise and climb the hill.
However, we wouldn't be doing this typical route (which is also not bad at all), but since I have traveled it many times, I wanted something different.
We took the path along the river, with a few pools remaining, and practically climbed where years ago (the guide didn't know how many), there was a waterfall, and it was quite large.
The experience was incredible. As I was climbing, I realized that I had been there before, but with a small but significant difference that I had gone down there, but now I had to go up, and I remember that when I was going down, I looked up and said, "How difficult it must be to go up!" and now, remembering it, I was going up.
After that first journey, we took the path to La Paz, a part of Casupo where there is a pleasant view of the city, and where there is also a house guarded by workers who are responsible for preserving the area. They welcomed us kindly for a while, while we hydrated and rested from the harsh sun. When I looked at the clock, it was already noon. And there was still a long way to go.
We went to El Café, where there is a small but very refreshing pool of crystal-clear water. We arrived there at three in the afternoon and left at around 4 o'clock.
Then we climbed El Café, and then descended, which took us until 7 in the evening.
It is worth noting that this journey took so long, in part because I stopped to contemplate the landscape, and of course, also to take photographs.
It was a long, tiring day, but enjoyable.

Vivir en una ciudad significa estar rodeado de ruido, ajetreo y caos. Si estás por Valencia, Venezuela, y quieres huir de todo esto, sin necesidad de ir tan lejos, y vivir un dìa distinto, te recomiendo recorrer la ruta Casupo-Café, que consta de aproxiamdamente 14 km de camino empinado, y donde a veces debes escalar un poco.
Tenia tiempo queriendo hacer esta ruta, que abarca dos municipios, Casupo en Valencia, y El Café en Naguanagua, pero no la conocía hasta que conseguí a un guía. Llegamos a las 8:00 am al punto de encuentro, que es el parque El Casupo, un lugar donde mucha gente de la ciudad se concentra apra ejercitarse, y subir la cuesta.
Sin embargo, nosotros no haríamos esta tìpica ruta (que tampoco está nada mal), pero como ya la he recorrido muchas veces, querìa algo distinto.
Tomamos el camino del río, del que quedan unos que otros pozos, y practicamente escalamos por donde años atrás (el guía desconocía cuántos), habìa una cascada, y vaya que era grande.
La experiencia fue increíble. De hecho, cuando iba subiendo, me di cuenta que ya había estado allì, pero con la pequeña gran diferencia de que habìa bajado por allí, pero ahora me tocò subir, y recuerdo que cuando bajaba, veìa hacia arriba y decìa: ¡Qué difícil debe ser subir!, y ahora al recordarlo, estaba subiendo.
Luego de esa primera travesìa, tomamos el camino hacia La Paz, una parte del Casupo donde se tiene una agradable vista de la ciudad, y donde además hay una casa custodiada por trabajadores que se encargan de preservar la zona. Nos recibieron amablemente durante un rato, mientras nos hidratamos y descansabamos del inclemente sol. Cuando vi la hora del reloj, ya eran las 12 del mediodìa. Y aún quedaba mucho camino.
Fuimos hasta El Café, donde hay un pequeño, pero muy refrescante de agua cristalina. Llegamos a las tres de la tarde allí, y salimos a las 4 aproximadamente.
Luego subimos el Café, para luego descender, algo que nos tomó hasta las 7 de la noche.
Cabe destacar que este recorrido duró tanto, en parte porque me detenía a contemplar el paisaje, y por supuesto, también para tomar fotografías.
Fue un día largo, cansón, pero defintivivamente fue agradable.
