Has it ever happened to you that you couldn't believe what you were seeing? Well, that's exactly what I felt when we arrived at this beach. I think at the time of this ride I was already having a serotonin overdose, but anything that makes you feel good is always welcome. The day was incredible, summer was at its height and we were ready to spend the whole afternoon in the "Patagonian Caribbean" that Lago Correntoso in Villa La Angostura, Neuquén gave us ❤️.
¿Alguna vez les pasó que no podían creer lo que estaban viendo? Bueno, exactamente así fue lo que sentí cuando llegamos a esta playa. Creo que al momento de este paseo ya estaba teniendo una sobredosis de serotonina, pero cualquier cosa que te haga sentir bien siempre es bienvenida. El día estaba increíble, el verano estaba en su auge y nosotros listos para pasar toda la tarde en el "caribe patagónico" que nos regalaba el Lago Correntoso en Villa La Angostura, Neuquén ❤️.
Lake Correntoso is one of the wonders offered by the Seven Lakes Route. This mirror of water of more than 25 km2 is surrounded by incredible mountains that adorn the landscape, as we have been seeing since we arrived in San Martín de Los Andes. Just 10 minutes from the center of Villa La Angostura, this wide white pebble beach represents an ideal place to spend the day ❤️.
El Lago Correntoso es una de las maravillas que ofrece la Ruta de Los Siete Lagos. Este espejo de agua de más de 25 km2 está rodeado de montañas increíbles que adornan el paisaje, como ya veníamos viendo desde que llegamos a San Martín de Los Andes. A tan solo 10 minutos del centro de Villa La Angostura, esta amplia playa de de piedrillas blancas representa un lugar ideal para pasar el día ❤️.
Undoubtedly its main charm is its two-color water: just a few meters from the shore we can see the turquoise water and beyond it changes almost with a well-defined line to a dark blue color, indicating the depths of the lake. The nice thing about this beach is that there is plenty of space with a "flat" beach and that the ground is very similar to sand, so you can get into it without any problems. Also, the water is not as cold as that of Lake Nahuel Huapi, which allows you to spend more time swimming and splashing around ❤️.
Sin dudas su principal encanto es su agua bicolor: a tan solo unos metros de la orilla podemos ver el agua turquesa y más allá cambia casi con una línea bien definida a un color azul oscuro, indicando las profundidades del lago. Lo lindo que tiene esta playa es que hay bastante espacio con playa "plana" y que el suelo es muy similar a la arena, por lo que te podés meter sin problemas con eso. Además, el agua no es tan fría como la del Lago Nahuel Huapi, lo que te permite pasar más tiempo nadando y chapoteando ❤️.
As in most of the lakes we visited, here too there was the option of sailing in small boats and kayaking. The approximate price of this activity was 1500ARS per hour of the ride (approx 7 USD), although most people end up using the kayak for only half an hour: although it may not seem like it, it is necessary to be in good physical condition to row for such a long time 😅.
Al igual que en la mayoría de los lagos que visitamos, acá también estaba la opción de navegar en pequeñas embarcaciones y hacer kayak. El precio aproximado de esta actividad era de 1500ARS por hora de paseo (aprox 7 USD), aunque la mayoría de la gente termina usando el kayak solo media hora: aunque no parezca, es necesario tener buen estado físico para remar durante tanto tiempo 😅.
As for the facilities on this beach, we only have a small grocery store with tables and chairs and some simple toilets. That place is the only one to buy in the area, so unfortunately the prices of food and drinks are exaggeratedly high, taking advantage of that condition. So, my recommendation is to bring everything you need for a day at the beach from your accommodation if your intention is not to spend a fortune on a bottle of water, as happened to me 😂.
En cuanto a las instalaciones de esta playa, solo tenemos una pequeña proveeduría con mesas y sillas y unos baños sencillos. Ese lugar es el único para comprar en la zona, por lo que lamentablemente los precios de la comida y bebida son exageradamente elevados, aprovechando esa condición. Entonces, mi recomendación es llevar todo lo necesario para el día de playa desde el alojamiento si su intención no es gastar una fortuna en una botella de agua, como me pasó a mí 😂.
Another issue to keep in mind on this beach is that there is no a large waste collection service, as is the case in much of Patagonia in Argentina. Therefore, it is necessary to return with the waste and discard it somewhere in the city center. In general, this rule is widely respected by all vacationers, so the beaches and natural spaces are kept quite clean ❤️.
Otra cuestión a tener en cuenta en esta playa es que no hay un gran servicio de recolección de residuos, como pasa en gran parte de la patagonia de Argentina. Por lo tanto es necesario regresar con los residuos y descartarlos en algún punto del centro de la ciudad. Por lo general, esta norma es ampliamente respetada por todos los vacacionistas, así que las playas y espacios naturales se mantienen bastante limpios ❤️.
This beach is by far one of the most beautiful where we spend the day: water that is not so cold, shade to rest, a floor that does not hurt your feet and a place to get basic supplies. That day it was extremely hot, so we spent a lot of time in that beautiful crystal clear water. While I was there I couldn't stop thinking about how beautiful that place was and thanking the universe for having the opportunity to be walking around there ❤️.
Esta playa es por lejos una de las más lindas en las que pasamos el día: agua no tan fría, sombra para descansar, piso que no te lastima los pies y lugar para conseguir insumos básicos. Ese día hacía muchísimo calor, por lo que pasamos bastante tiempo en esa hermosa agua cristalina. Mientras estaba ahí no podía dejar de pensar en lo hermoso de ese lugar y de agradecer al universo por tener la oportunidad de estar paseando por ahí ❤️.
Every time I visit a new place in Argentina I fall more and more in love with my country. It is so beautiful that at least once in your life you have to go out and explore it a bit. At the moment, everything we had seen of Villa La Angostura enchanted us: this is a place to return to again and again because you could never get tired of seeing this spectacle of nature. Just remember what I said: bring supplies if you want to save some money! 😂
Cada vez que conozco un lugar nuevo de Argentina me enamoro más y más de mi país. Es tan hermoso que al menos una vez en la vida hay que salir a recorrerlo un poco. Por el momento, todo lo que habíamos visto de Villa La Angostura nos encantó: este es un lugar para volver una y otra vez porque nunca podrías cansarte de ver este espectáculo de la naturaleza. Solo recuerden lo que dije: ¡lleven provisiones si quieren ahorrar algo de dinero! 😂
