What perfect weather we had for Mother's Day this year 11 May and we chose a perfect venue to celebrate.

"Historic, family-owned Stellenbosch Wine Estate with Tasting Room serving wine tastings & casual lunch, and a world class fine-dining Restaurant for dinner only."
Established in 1694, Rust en Vrede is proud to be part of a remarkable three hundred year old wine tradition.
Rust-en-Vrede was originally built in the 1840's as a prison and police headquarters. It also served as a magistrate's court. It is here that the first Village Management Committee meetings were held.
Contemporary fine dining within Rust en Vrede Wine Estate’s historic former cellar (also a national monument), where the front-and-centre kitchen, fine stemware and bespoke crockery enhance creative four- and six-course menus. A comprehensive winelist carries wide local and international selections, leaving little to be desired.

This was truly an experience in a million. A wonderful memory made for all of us. Would have been perfect if Jack could have been with us. Who knows maybe next year my mother will have all of us with her.
I'm looking forward to experiencing other wine farms in the future and writing about my experiences. Kiara is already planning her next trip to the Cape.
What a wonderful Mother's Day celebration Lee, an absolutely stunning venue!
Yes, everything was perfect - great venue, great food and most of all great company

Hey @leelektrik you are welcome.
Thanks for using @worldmappin 😘
What a lovely day this was, great food, beautiful scenery and good company.
Looks amazing. We nearly went to this region for a trip in 2020 but as you can probably guess… we didn’t! Still haven’t been to South Africa but hopefully some other time.

I'm really not sure where he went wrong as he spoke about the history of the place and also spoke about the lunch as this is an integral part of these wine farms - everyone goes there to experience the wines and the fine dining
Please note that restaurants don´t count as touristic spot within our community. You can pin it on the map and post it in another community without any problem, but not in WMP community. Check out the guide to get more inside on that please :)
As per the response from @owenkay I'm not quite sure what is expected - perhaps I should not be using the worldmappin community - I was looking forward to sharing experiences with other wine farms going forward but perhaps I should seek another community?
Hi @leelektrik, lovely post, but the content would be more suitable in the Food & Culture Community😉
Hi @leelektrik. Exactly. You are always welcome to pin those places on the map and post them within another community. But sadly in this community restaurant visits are not allowed as topic to post about. Check out the guide for further information :)
