The La Cárcova Museum - UNA

Para no arrepentirse del paseo, si bien el lugar no es gigante, como esperaríamos de un museo largo y extenso de recorrer, cuenta con muchísimas copias de obras y en su recorrido no llegamos a verlas todas, hay mucha historia y muchas épocas distintas mezcladas.

Contamos para empezar, con un David de Miguel Ángel en tamaño real (pues claro, es un calco!) en el medio de la sala, la verdad es que yo no he visto la obra original en Florenzia, pero entiendo que ya que se encuentra en altura y solo puedes acercarte a cierta distancia, eso hace que parezca “más grande que la original”

Nos cuenta cómo cada calco tiene un sello del sitio donde fue realizado, y encuentro de estos por todas las obras, del Louvre o de Alemania en su mayoría. Es muy llamativo como, por ejemplo la obra de la Victoria alada de Samotracia tiene detrás algunas marcas (copiadas al yeso, claro) que corresponden a unas varillas metálicas que tiene la obra original, corresponden a las uniones de las alas y partes más débiles del mármol, que si bien encajan perfectamente, son desmontables por la fragilidad que pueden tener en caso de tener que ser transportadas.

I was also impressed by the huge Moses work in the central hall, and also by the pre-Columbian art, jade, Mayan territory and paintings, staircases, and lots and lots of history behind each object, either because it was unearthed, because it was preserved, or donated by someone. I truly knew, from the moment I set foot in this place, that it would be a huge glimpse into the history of art, and almost transported me to several different museums.

Me vi impresionada también por la obra del Moisés enorme que estaba en la sala central, y también por el arte precolombino, de jade, del territorio maya y cuadros, escaleras, y mucha pero mucha historia detrás de cada objeto, ya sea porque fue desenterrado, porque fue conservado, o donado por alguien. Antes de retirarme, hago esta foto entendiendo el peso que tiene la obra sobre su pierna derecha y tratando de imitarla. Claro que a mi gusto la más llamativa es el David, me sorprende el tamaño de su mano, los datos extraordinarios de la obra, o el detalle que en su versión original pesa más de 8 toneladas, y que fue un trozo de mármol donado, y usado ya por otro artista, antes de que estuviera en manos del jóven Miguel Ángel. Todo el tiempo es enriquecedor de datos de arte e historia.
After finishing the tour inside the space, with a place dedicated to the history and objects of the man after whom the museum is named, Mr. Ernesto de la Cárcova, I proceeded to the courtyard, a beautiful and charming green space that offers rest and more art. More casts, some damaged, some not seen before, and also special works by people who donated or were students at the school located here.

Al terminar el recorrido por dentro del espacio, con un lugar destinado a la historia y objetos del hombre que da nombre al museo, el señor Ernesto de la Cárcova, procedo a conocer el patio, un espacio verde hermoso y encantador que ofrece descanso y más arte. Más calcos, algunos dañados, algunos no antes vistos, y también obras especiales de personas que donaron o fueron alumnos en la escuela que aquí se encuentra.
