Hallo liebe Community,
auf dem Rückweg zu unserem Hotel sahen wir, dass man am Hafen von Villefranche Sur Mer auch Motorboote leihen konnte. Manche, die man nur mit Bootsführerschein fahren durfte aber einige wenige auch, die man ohne den Führerschein ausleihen konnte. Nun versuchen wir jeden Urlaub auch immer ein besonderes Highlight einzubauen, auch wenn es nicht immer ganz günstig ist. Also entschieden wir uns am nachmittag wieder zu kommen und ein Boot für 2 Stunden zu mieten. Die 140 € war uns das wirklich wert und wir sollten nicht enttäuscht werden.
Am Nachmittag waren wir also wieder vor Ort und mieteten so ein kleines Boot. Meine Frau hatte extra eine Tablette gegen Seekrankheit genommen, da sie hier oft Probleme hat, wenn es aufs Wasser geht. Und auch ich hatte ein flaues gefühl im magen, als ich das kleine Ding sah, mit dem wir uns nun auf den Weg machen würden. Wir wollten einmal das Kap Ferrat umrunden und in einer kleinen Bucht auf der anderen Seite zum Schwimmen vor Anke gehen.
Die Bedienung des Boots war sehr einfach und nach einer kurzen Einweisung fuhren wir auch schon mit allem was der Motor hergab, und das war nicht viel, los. Beim verlassen des Hafens und der Durchfahrt der Bucht hatten wir jetzt einen tollen Blick vom Wasser aus auf Villefranche und auch unsere Ferienanlage. Wir schlängelten uns durch die vor Anke liegenden Yachten und Boote bis wir freie Sicht auf das vor uns liegende Mittelmeer hatten. Hier ging meine Frau ans Steuer und ich machte es mir im vorderen Liegebereich etwas gemütlich um die Aussicht zu genießen. Hier in der Bucht war der Wellengang nicht sehr stark und wir genossen die Fahrt.
Als wir jedoch aus der Bucht heraus kamen und die Spitze des Kap Ferrat umrundeten, waren die Wellen deutlich höhe rund unser kleines Boot wurde schon kräftig durchgeschüttelt, so dass auch ich es im Magen deutlich merkte. Insbesondere wenn eine der großen Yachten an uns vorbei zog und noch höhere Wellen verursachte. Glücklicherweise war die nur ein kleine sStück und schnell waren wir wieder in der nächsten Bucht und konnten die Villen von Kap Ferrat bestaunen, die auf den Klippen thronten.
In unserer vorher ausgesuchten Bucht angekommen blickten wir auf einen schönen Strand und es war nicht allzu voll hier. Wir gingen vor Anker und sprangen vom Boot aus ins türkis blaue klare Wasser. Hier waren wir sofort umgeben von unzähligen Fischen, die neugierig schauen wollten, was hier in ihr Revier eindrang. Das Wasser war ein poaar Meter tief aber man konnte gut bis zum Grund schauen. Das war ein Spaß hier mit den Fischen zu tauchen. Zum Glück hatten wir unsere Taucherbrillen mitgebracht.
Da wir das Boot ja nur für 2 Stunden gemietet hatten, mussten wir uns leider nach 30 Minuten in der Bucht wieder auf den Rückweg machen. Aber ich sage mal so, meine Frau war nicht ganz unglücklich auf Grund des schaukelnden Untersatzes. Nachdem wir auch die hohen Wellen vor Kap Ferrat wieder gemeistert hatten fuhren wir pünktlich nach 2 Stunden wieder in den Hafen ein und gaben das Boot zurück. Dies war sicher eines der schönsten Erlebnisse dieses Urlaubs und sehr empfehlenswert.

On the way back to our hotel, we saw that you could also rent motorboats at the port in Villefranche-sur-Mer. Some that you could only drive with a boat license, but a few that you could rent without one. Now we always try to include a special highlight in every vacation, even if it's not always cheap. So we decided to come back in the afternoon and rent a boat for 2 hours. The €140 was really worth it to us, and we weren't disappointed.
So we were back in the afternoon and rented a small boat. My wife had taken a tablet for seasickness, as she often has problems when she goes out on the water. And I, too, had a queasy feeling in my stomach when I saw the little thing we were about to set off on. We wanted to circumnavigate Cape Ferrat and go swimming in a small bay on the other side, just off Anke.
The boat was very easy to operate, and after a brief briefing, we were off, using the engine's full power—which wasn't much—to power our boat. Leaving the harbor and passing through the bay, we had a fantastic view of Villefranche and our resort from the water. We snaked our way through the yachts and boats moored in front of Anke until we had a clear view of the Mediterranean Sea stretching out before us. My wife took the helm, and I made myself comfortable in the front lounge area to enjoy the view. The waves weren't very strong here in the bay, and we enjoyed the ride.
However, as we emerged from the bay and rounded the tip of Cape Ferrat, the waves were significantly higher, and our small boat was already being shaken violently, so much so that I could feel it in my stomach, especially when one of the larger yachts passed us, causing even higher waves. Fortunately, it was only a short stretch, and we were quickly back in the next bay, admiring the villas of Cape Ferrat perched on the cliffs.
Arriving at our previously chosen bay, we were greeted by a beautiful beach and it wasn't too crowded. We dropped anchor and jumped from the boat into the clear turquoise water. We were immediately surrounded by countless fish, curious to see what was invading their territory. The water was a couple of meters deep, but you could easily see all the way to the bottom. It was fun to dive with the fish here. Luckily, we had brought our goggles.
Since we had only rented the boat for two hours, we unfortunately had to head back after 30 minutes in the bay. But let me just say, my wife wasn't entirely unhappy with the rocking hull. After we had once again mastered the high waves off Cape Ferrat, we returned to the harbor promptly two hours later and returned the boat. This was certainly one of the best experiences of our vacation and highly recommended.
