Hallo liebe Community,
Heute ein Sonntagspost aus dem Corona Quarantänelager. Ich bin seit gestern positiv, habe aber keinerlei Symptome. Glücklicherweise. Muss jetzt halt 5 Tage in Quarantäne bleiben, naja auch nicht so schlimm. Da komme ich endlich mal dazu meine ganzen Amazon Prime Serien zu schauen, die ich noch in der Watchlist liegen habe.
Nun zu meinem heutigen Post, der Falknerei auf dem Königsstuhl. Da waren wir mal zu einer der täglichen Vorführungen und das wollte ich Euch nicht vorenthalten. Ist schon toll da oben mit herrlichem Weitblick über Heidelberg und die Rheinebene.
Der Falkner zeigt bei diesen Vorführungen eine Menge unterschiedlicher Greifvögel. So hat er Eulen, Falken und auch einen Adler. Wirklich majestätische Tiere sind das. Zuerst sitzen sie bei ihm auf dem Handschuh und er zeigt sie den Zuschauern. Dann kommt die Show der Fütterung. Die Vögel steigen hoch in den Himmel hinauf und ziehen ihre Kreise. Wenn der Falkner dann ein totes Küken heraus holt und an einer Schnur über den Boden zieht, stoßen die Vögel aus dem Himmel herab auf ihre Beute.
Ein sehr interessantes Schauspiel. Gerade die Falken kommen dabei auf unglaubliche Geschwindigkeit und verfehlen nie ihr Ziel. Der Adler aber hatte andere Pläne. Er stieg so weit auf, dass er mit bloßem Auge fast nicht mehr zu erkennen war und machte sich davon auf einen kleinen Ausflug. Das würde öfter passieren, sagte der Falkner. Entweder er käme alleine nach ein paar Stunden wieder zurück oder es käme ein Anruf, dass jemand den Adler in einem Baum oder so sitzend gefunden hätte. Dann müsse er los und ihn abholen. Meist wäre das unten in Heidelberg und Umgebung. Die weiteste Fahrt hätte er aber auch einmal nach Rotterdam gehabt. Der Wind trägt neunmal manch mal etwas weiter😁.
Nach der tollen Show ging es dann wieder mit der Zahnradbahn gemütlich den Berg hinab zum Heidelberger Schloss und dann ganz hinunter in die wunderschöne Altstadt. Ein toller Tag.

Today a Sunday post from the Corona quarantine camp. I have been positive since yesterday, but have no symptoms. Fortunately. Now I have to stay in quarantine for 5 days, but that's not so bad. I finally get to watch all my Amazon Prime series, which I still have in the watchlist.
Now to my today's post, the falconry on the Königsstuhl. Since we were times to one of the daily demonstrations and I did not want to withhold. It's great up there with a beautiful view over Heidelberg and the Rhine Valley.
The falconer shows a lot of different birds of prey during these demonstrations. So he has owls, falcons and also an eagle. Really majestic animals they are. First they sit on the glove with him and he shows them to the spectators. Then comes the show of feeding. The birds soar high into the sky and make their circles. Then, when the falconer takes out a dead chick and pulls it across the ground on a string, the birds swoop down from the sky onto their prey.
A very interesting spectacle. The falcons in particular get up to incredible speed and never miss their target. The eagle, however, had other plans. It soared so high that it was almost invisible to the naked eye and took off on a little trip. This would happen more often, the falconer said. Either he would come back alone after a few hours or there would be a call that someone had found the eagle sitting in a tree or something. Then he would have to go and pick it up. Mostly that would be down in Heidelberg and the surrounding area. The farthest journey he had, however, was once to Rotterdam. The wind carries nine times sometimes something further😁.
After the great show, it was then again with the rack railroad comfortably down the mountain to Heidelberg Castle and then all the way down to the beautiful old town. A great day.
