Hallo liebe Community,
bei meinen Urlaubsradtouren durch den Nationalpark an der holländischen Nordseeküste habe ich auch die dort frei lebenden Wildpferde und wilden Rinder mehrmals zu Gesicht bekommen.
Man fährt seelenruhig durch den Nationalpark vor sich hin und ist plötzlich mittendrin in einer Herde Wildpferde, einfach unglaublich. Da es hier keine Zäune oder ähnliches gibt, können die Ziere laufen wohin sie wollen. Und nicht selten grasen sie dann links und rechts des Weges oder stehen gerne auch mal direkt darauf. Dann muss man eben absteigen und langsam durchgehen. Den Tieren ist das eigentlich recht egal, die nehmen fast überhaupt keine Notiz von einem.
Die Rasse der Pferde ist mir leider nicht bekannt. Sie waren zumindest alle grau. Kennt von Euch jemand diese Rasse? Wirklich schöne Tiere.
An anderen Stellen des Nationalparks manchmal aber auch direkt mit den Pferden zusammen trifft man dann auch auf die wilden Rinder die hier heimisch sind. Auch diese lassen sich nicht stören und liegen zumeist faul in der Sonne oder grasen auf den Wiesen neben dem Weg.
Die Rinder sind alle rötlich gefärbt und haben recht zotteliges Fell. Aber das Highlight sind natürlich die riesigen Hörner. Von denen würde ich stets Abstand halten, denn die können sicher unangenehm pieksen 😆.
An einigen Stellen des Parks trifft man auch auf die Fundstücke auf meinem letzten Bild. Es handelt sich hierbei um Übungsbomben aus dem zweiten Weltkrieg. Aber keine Sorge, die sind völlig ungefährlich. Die Nazis hatten dieses Gelände als Übungsplatz für ihre Sturzkampfbomber benutzt und mit diesen Bombenatrappen, die zwar aus Beton sind aber genau die Abmessungen und das Gewicht der echten Bomben hatten, Zielübungen veranstaltet. Hier kann man also auch noch Geschichte live erleben.

during my vacation bike tours through the national park on the Dutch North Sea coast, I also got to see the wild horses and wild cattle living freely there several times.
One drives soul-quietly through the national park before itself and is suddenly in the middle of a herd of wild horses, simply unbelievable. Since there are no fences or the like here, the animals can run wherever they want. And not rarely they graze then left and right of the way or stand gladly also times directly on it. Then you have to dismount and walk slowly. The animals don't really care, they take almost no notice of you.
The breed of the horses is unfortunately not known to me. At least they were all gray. Does anyone know this breed? Really beautiful animals.
In other parts of the national park sometimes directly together with the horses you can meet the wild cattle. They don't let themselves be disturbed either and mostly lie lazily in the sun or graze on the meadows next to the path.
The cattle are all reddish colored and have quite shaggy fur. But the highlight are of course the huge horns. I would always keep my distance from them, because they can certainly sting uncomfortably 😆.
In some places of the park you also meet the findings in my last picture. These are practice bombs from the Second World War. But don't worry, they are completely harmless. The Nazis had used this area as a training ground for their dive bombers and with these dummy bombs, which are made of concrete but had exactly the dimensions and the weight of the real bombs, target practice was organized. So here you can still experience history live.
