Surely you already realized two things, that I like the beach and that I live near the beach, and it's true, I love going to the beach and although I am a little afraid of the sea, I still do not miss the opportunity to enjoy the peace and relaxation that the sea offers us.
This time we went to Piata, a very nice and quiet beach in the middle of the city of Salvador Bahia, Brazil. It is located to the north of Octavio Mangabeira Avenue, the famous "Salvador's border", between Itapua beach and Boca do Rio, speaking in very basic references.
This is a perfect beach to go with children, it is super calm, few waves, the tide is almost always low, because it is protected by an arch of stones that can be seen far out to sea. Its sand is white, clean and warm, it is super relaxing to walk there with bare feet, sure that you will not hurt yourself with something sharp, these beaches are very well cared for by the same merchants and the prefecture of the city.
Yesterday was a rare day, just the second round of the presidential elections here in Brazil, and also of the Governor of the State of Bahia, so people were stressed and expectation, but as good Bahians, many people went to the beach to take away the stress, and take advantage of the wonderful sun that gave us the sky for this day.
We could not really say that we were too worried about the elections, because we are foreigners, maybe it will affect us, but we have neither the right nor the obligation to vote so it was in a way a day like any other, so after lunch we decided to go to the beach to drink some cold beers, and enjoy life, which is tastier in the sea.
So we left home, it was about 2 pm, we went out to the avenue, we waited for a bus that would take us to the beach, to our surprise today was free access to public transport, that is, it was free! In less than 5 minutes we were on the beach.
Just in front of the bus stop there is a huge supermarket where we went to buy beers, soft drinks and some snacks, also ice to keep the drinks cold. From there we crossed the avenue again and now we were on the sand to enjoy the delicious day.
Once on the beach my daughter and I rushed out to take our first dip and make the most of those few hours of sunshine left in the day. The water was nice and warm, the sea was calm, not too deep and we were able to spend some time there to relax, while my husband was on the sand watching a soccer game on the phone, drinking his beers and obviously taking care of things.
We had a nice time, I had a Ginger Ale, delicious, I love this drink, we ate peanuts that fascinate us, Isa ate her bacon snacks that are her favorite and so we spent the afternoon, until 17 hours we were ready to return home, the same process of going to the bus stop and wait for any bus going in the direction of our house, or passing nearby, and immediately one passed, so we got on, and quickly we were already back home.

Living close to the sea has its great advantages, and sometimes it is hard to take advantage of them, because we think that we have to make many arrangements to go out and enjoy the sea, but in reality what we need is the desire to do it, we have a great time with few things, and we want to get used to do it this way, because not everyone has the advantages of living so close to the sea, and that it is so beautiful and suitable for a good dip from time to time.

Seguro ya te diste cuenta de dos cosas, que me gusta la playa y que vivo cerquita de la playa, y es verdad, amo ir a la playa y aunque soy un poco miedosa del mar, aun asi no pierdo la oportunidad de disfrutar de la paz y relajación que el mar nos ofrece.
En esta ocasión nos fuimos a Piata, una playa muy buena y tranquila en plena ciudad de Salvador Bahia, Brasil. Se ubica hacia el norte de la avenida Octavio Mangabeira, la famosa “orla de salvador”, entre la playa de Itapúa y Boca do rio hablando en referencias muy básicas.
Esta es una playa perfecta para ir con los niños, es super calmada, pocas olas, la marea es casi siempre baja, pues la protegen un arco de piedras que se ven a lo lejos mar adentro. Su arena es blanca, limpia y tibia, es super relajante caminar por allí con los pies descalzos, seguros de que no te lastimaras con algo afilado, estas playas son muy bien cuidadas por los mismos comerciantes y la prefectura de la ciudad.
Ayer era un dia un poco raro, justo se llevaba a cabo el segundo turno de las elecciones presidenciales de aquí en Brasil, y también del Gobernador del Estado de Bahía, por esto la gente estaba estresada y la expectativa, pero como buenos bahianos, mucha gente se fue a la playa para quitarse el estrés, y aprovechar el maravilloso sol que nos regaló el cielo para este dia.
Nosotros la verdad no podíamos decir que estábamos demasiado preocupados por el tema de las elecciones, pues somos extranjeros, quizás si nos afecte, pero no tenemos ni derecho ni obligación de ir a votar así que fue de cierta forma un dia como cualquiera, por esto, después de almorzar decidimos que nos íbamos a la playa a tomarnos unas cervezas bien frías, y disfrutar de la vida, que en el mar es más sabrosa.
Así que salimos de casa, eran más o menos las 14 horas de la tarde, salimos a la avenida, esperamos un ómnibus que nos llevaría a la playa, para sorpresa nuestra el día de hoy era de acceso libre al transporte público, es decir estaba gratis!! En menos de 5 minutos ya estábamos en la playa.
Justo en frente de la parada de omnibus hay un supermercado inmenso donde nos fuimos a comprar las cervezas, refrescos y algunos snacks, también hielo para mantener frías las bebidas. Luego de allí cruzamos nuevamente la avenida y ahora si ya estábamos pisando la arena, para disfrutar del delicioso día.
Ya en la playa mi hija y yo salimos corriendo a darnos el primer chapuzón y así sacarle el máximo a esas breves horas de sol que le quedaban al día. El agua estaba rica, tibia, el mar calmado, no muy hondo y pudimos pasar allí un buen ratito para relajarnos, mientras que mi esposo estaba en la arena viendo un partido de fútbol en el teléfono, tomándose sus cervezas y cuidando de las cosas obviamente.
Pasamos un rato agradable, yo me tomé un Ginger Ale, delicioso, me encanta esta bebida, comimos maní que nos fascina, Isa se comió sus snacks de tocino que son sus favoritos y así pasamos la tarde, hasta las 17 horas que nos dispusimos a volver a casa, el mismo proceso de ir a la parada de ómnibus y esperar cualquiera que fuera en dirección a nuestra casa, o que pasara cerca, y en seguida pasó uno, así que nos montamos, y rápidamente estábamos ya de regreso en nuestro hogar.
Vivir cerquita del mar tiene sus grandes ventajas, y a veces a uno le cuesta aprovecharlas, porque pensamos que hay que hacer muchos arreglos para salir a disfrutar del mar, pero en realidad lo que hace falta son las ganas de hacerlo.Nosotros la pasamos super bien con pocas cosas, y nos queremos acostumbrar a hacerlo así, pues no todo el mundo tiene las ventajas de vivir tan cerca del mar, y que sea tan bonito y apto para darse un buen chapuzón de vez en cuando.

Que rico pasar un día de playa, es cierto lo que dices amiga vivir cerca del mar y se dificulta pasar un día diferente, yo viví en la Guaira Catia la mar y eran pocas las veces que bajaba a la playa por motivos de trabajo
