Good morning, @worldmappin community. This is my first post in this community. I really enjoy travelling (who doesn't?). Some time ago, I organised a trip with my daughter for last weekend to Colonia de Sacramento, Uruguay. I'm from Argentina, so I only had to cross the pond, literally, as Buenos Aires is 50 km away from Colonia in a straight line. We left on Friday, 26 December at 6:30 a.m. from the Buquebús terminal in the port of Buenos Aires, bound for the city of Colonia del Sacramento. We checked in and went through immigration. Everyone was very friendly, and we had no problems. We arrived at the hotel around 8:00 a.m., but since check-in wasn't until 2:00 p.m., they stored our luggage at the hotel and allowed us to use the lobby facilities. We filled our thermos with water for mate and went to explore the historic district. Beautiful cobblestone streets, some built by the Portuguese and others by the Spanish (this city was invaded by both countries, so architecturally there are traces of both, which makes it so interesting).
Buen día comunidad de @worldmappin, éste es mi primer post en ésta comunidad. Me gusta mucho viajar (a quien no). Organicé ya hace tiempo un viaje con mi hija para el fin de semana pasado a Colonia de Sacramento, Uruguay. Yo soy de Argentina asi que sólo tuve que cruzar el charco, literalmente, Buenos Aires de Colonia se encuentra en linea recta a 50 km. Partimos el viernes 26 de diciembre a las 6:30 desde la terminal de Buequebús en elpuerto de Buenos Aires con destino a la ciudad de Colonia de Sacramento, hicimos el chekin luego migraciones , muy amables todos no tuvimos ningun problema. Llegamos al hotel cerca de las 8:00 pero como el ingreso se hace recien a las 14:00 nos guardaron el equipaje en elhotel y nos permitieron utilizar las instalaciones del lobby, con lo cual cargamos el termo con agua para el mate y nos fuimos a recorrer el casco historico. Hermosas calles de adoquines unas hechas por los portugueses y otras por los españoles (esta ciudad fue invadida por ambos paises por lo cual arquitectonicamente quedan vestigios de ambas, lo que la hace tan interesante).
Already excited but tired from walking (although the historic centre can be explored in a morning, it's easy to get lost and stop to look at every corner) and very hungry, we decided to stop for something fresh to eat because it was already 32 degrees Celsius: a salad with ginger lemonade.
Ya emocionadas pero cansadas de caminar, (si bien el casco historico se recorre en una mañana es facil perderse y detenerse a ver cada rincon) y con mucho hambre decidimos parar para comer algo fresco porque ya hacian 32 grados celcius, una ensalada con limonada de jenjibre
Then, as it was so hot, we went to the hotel, where we were able to check in, and we jumped into the pool. Later, we went out for a walk and to watch the sunset. The place becomes even more beautiful with its illuminated streets, retaining a precious colonial charm. We walked to the pier this time and came across a drum band that started playing from the pier where the black slaves arrived. From there, they played and danced their way to the city centre. It was impressive and very moving.
Well, that was the first day. We were exhausted, so we decided to go to bed early to get up early the next day and go on a tour bus excursion.
Luego como era tanto el calor nos fuimos al hotel, ya podiamos hacer el chekin, y nos metimos en la piscina, más tarde salimos a pasear y a ver la puesta del sol. El lugar se torna mas hermoso con su calles iluminadas conservando un encanto colonial precioso. Caminamos hasta el muelle esta vez y nos encontramos con una banda de tambores que empiezan a tocar desde el muelle donde llegaban los negros esclavos y desde ahi van tocando y bailando hasta el centro de la ciudad es impresionante y muy emotivo.
Bueno hasta acá fue el primer dia terminamos agotadas asi que decidimos ir a dormir para levantarnos temprano el dia siguiente y hacer como excursion de tour bus

Que espectacular lugar debió ser un viaje increíble con su hija y crear recuerdos inolvidables. Saludos
