Even after many years, you can still discover new things in your own neighborhood. And if you expand your neighborhood a little, you suddenly have countless opportunities to explore and enjoy new places.
Last year, like many of you, I was suddenly confined to my neighborhood, and we just made the most of it and went out to take a closer look. And what we found simply enchanted and captivated us. Exciting things are often lurking just around the corner and even places that for many seem quite ordinary, often develop a very special charm for me and then do not let me go.
Like Akiha Park, which I've passed several times over the years and always somehow ignored the sign which guided me to its entrance. But last April I finally dared to go and made a little detour, only to realize that I should return here as soon as possible with a little more time in my bag. And at cherry blossom time, we did just that and didn't regret it one bit. Such a beautiful spot we had found here.
In the middle of the park, which stretches over several hills in the forest, there are several hiking trails, a Japanese garden and of course a shrine. Not to mention the many cozy places that simply invite you to stop and linger. And when the cherry trees are in bloom, it is just wonderful here and I don't want to go home at the end of the day.
But just look for yourself why I liked it so much here.

Auch nach vielen Jahren kann man in der eigenen Nachbarschaft immer noch Neues entdecken. Und wenn man die Nachbarschaft ein wenig ausdehnt, ergeben sich plötzlich wieder unzählige Möglichkeiten neuer Orte auszukundschaften und zu genießen.
Im letzten Jahr war ich, wie viele andere unter euch, plötzlich auf dieses Nachbarschaft beschränkt, und wir haben dann einfach da Beste daraus gemacht und sind losgezogen, uns hier noch einmal genauer umzusehen. Und was wir gefunden haben, hat uns einfach verzückt und bezaubert. Das Interessante lauert oft gleich um die Ecke und selbst Orte, die für viele nur ganz profan wirken, entwicklen für mich oft einen ganz besonderen Charm und lassen mich dann nicht mehr los.
So wie der Akiha-Park, an dem ich über die Jahre schon etliche Male vorbeigefahren bin und das bezügliche Hinweisschild immer irgendwie ignoriert hatte. Aber im letzten April habe ich mich dann doch endlich getraut und habe einen kleinen Abstecher gemacht, nur um festzustellen, dass ich hierher so schnell wie möglich mit ein wenig mehr Zeit im Gepäck zurückkehren sollte. Und zur Zeit der Kirschblüte haben wir das dann auch gemacht und kein bisschen bereut. Ein wunderschöner Flecken Erde, den wir hier gefunden hatten.
Mitten im Park, der sich über mehrer Hügel im Wald erstreckt, gibt es mehrere Wanderwege, einen japanischen Garten und natürlich auch einen Schrein. Von den vielen gemütlichen Orten, die einfach zum Verweilen einladen, einmal abgesehen. Und wenn dann noch die Kirsche blüht, ist es hier einfach nur herrlich und man möchte am Ende des Tages gar nicht mehr nach Hause.
Aber schaut doch einfach mal selbst, warum es mir hier so gut gefallen hat.
On top of the mountain you have not only many wonderful blooming cherry trees, but also a great view. And the weather had also played along well.
Oben auf dem Berg hat man nicht nur viele wundervoll blühende Kirschbäume, sondern auch eine tolle Aussicht. Und das Wetter hatte auch gut mitgespielt.
Especially this view, with this little valley and its fields, really made my heart soar. Here I could have sat the whole time, just to sit and dream.
Besonders dieser Anblick, mit diesem kleinen Tal und seinen Feldern, hat mir richtig das Herz aufgehen lassen. Hier hätte ich die ganze Zeit sitzen können, einfach nur um in Ruhe zu schwelgen.
The Japanese garden, of course, also has a small pond with several colorful koi carp.
Der japanischen Garten hat natürlich auch einen kleinen Teich mit mehreren bunten Koi-Karpfen.
Then, at the very top, you'll find this Buddhist dome dedicated to the hope of lasting peace. Let's make sure that this goal is within reach for all of us.
Ganz oben findet man dann diesen buddhistischen Dom, der der Hoffnung auf währenden Frieden gewidmet ist. Sorgen wir dafür, dass dieses Ziel für alle von uns erreichbar wird.
In the middle of the park you suddenly find yourself in front of this mansion, which I could imagine as a place to live or retire.
Mitten im Park steht man dann plötzlich vor diesem Anwesen, welches ich mir gerne als Wohn- oder Ruhesitz vorstellen könnte.
And here and there you can find a bench that invites you to stay a while. Who doesn't like to sit down in this atmosphere, a superb place to take in the surroundings.
Und immer wieder findet man eine Bank, die zum Verweilen einlädt. In diesem Ambiente setzt man sich doch gerne und lässt die Umgebung auf einen einwirken.
Whoever had the idea to plant the cherry trees was truly a visionary person. The greatest beauty comes from nature and if mankind then carefully adds a touch to it, the most wonderful places can be created. Like at this lake, what a great harmony.
Wer auch immer die Idee hatte, die Kirschbäume anzulegen, war fürwahr eine weitsichtige Person. Die größte Schönheit kommt aus der Natur und wenn dann der Mensch vorsichtig ein wenig dazu gibt, können die wundervollsten Orte entstehen. Wie auch an diesem See, welch ein großartiges Zusammenspiel.
Fortunately, I have these images not only on photo, but also stored in my head. And this year we made a similar tour, because it is so magical and the pictures in the head also needed a little refresher. Dreams, after all, also always need new nourishment so that they can return all the more vivid and colorful.
Life is beautiful, so let's celebrate it!
Diese Anblicke habe ich zum Glück nicht nur auf Foto, sondern auch in meinem Kopf gespeichert. Und in diesem Jahr haben wir dann eine ähnliche Tour gemacht, weil es so bezaubernd ist und die Bilder im Kopf ruhig auch ein wenig aufgefrischt werden können. Denn Träume brauchen auch immer wieder neue Nahrung, damit sie um so lebendiger und farbenfroher wiederkehren können.
Das Leben ist schön, also leben wir es!
