🇬🇧 It's been a long time since I last submitted a post here. However, my recent trip to Istanbul inspired me to hit the pencil icon and share my unforgettable experience in this megapolis.
It happened to visit Istanbul twice in the past six months. Not that I'm complaining. It is a city to love, the atmosphere, spirit, vibrancy and fresh ideas.
🇧🇬 Измина немалко време, откакто за последен път писах пост тук. Сегашното пътуване до Истанбул обаче ме вдъхнови да натисна иконата с молив и да споделя незабравимото си преживяване в този мегаполис. Така се случи, че посетих Истанбул два пъти през последните шест месеца. Не че се оплаквам. Това е град който обичам, атмосферата, духа, жизнеността и свежите идеи.
🇬🇧 This time, I have decided to do something different. Of course, going back to old places is inevitable. We, humans, like to relate to things and people, and in my opinion, visiting previous sites is one way of doing that. But we also like to think that we have grown and evaluated, and learning new things is part of that.
The city gives me both; places I can relate to and new bits of knowledge.
🇧🇬 Този път реших да направя нещо различно. Разбира се, връщането към старите места е неизбежно. Ние, хората, обичаме да се свързваме с неща и хора, и по мое мнение, посещението на места, където сме вече сме били, е един от начините да се направи това. Но също така обичаме да мислим, че сме израснали и оценили а научаването на нови неща е част от това. Градът ми дава и двете; места, с които мога да се свържа емоционално и нови знания.
🇬🇧 Living in a village in the mountain, where fish is not plentiful, the first-night dinner had to be seafood. I went to this restaurant in Fatih called Fish Home.
🇧🇬 Живеейки в село в планината, където няма различни видове риба, първата вечер вечеря трябваше да бъде с морски дарове. Отидохме в един рибен ресторант във Фатих наречен Fish Home
Now, I won't go too much about the service, as it's rarely disappointing, the food is predominantly delicious and plenty, and the staff is hospitable. One thing that is true enough is that the prices have gone up significantly.
Before going to the restaurant, I sat down to enjoy a cup (estikana glass) of traditional hot apple tea- (one must try it here) in the historical restaurant of Şerbethane Cafe & Restaurant
Сега, няма ви занимавам твърде много с обслужването тук, тъй като рядко е разочароващо, храната е предимно вкусна и изобилна, а персоналът е гостоприемен. Едно нещо, което е твърде вярно, е, че цените са се повишили значително. Но, преди да отидем в ресторанта, отидохме да изпием по един ябълков чай- (човек трябва да го опита тук) в историческия ресторант на Şerbethane Cafe & Restaurant.

| Every morning, my family and I drink Turkish coffee at Ays cafe. Found in Sultanahmet Square, where a friendly waiter/owner welcomes us with a smile and warm attitude. Of course, ladies are always served coffee with a flower. |

Walking around Sultanahmet Square, the beautiful tulips arouse admiration in everybody. It is the tulip season here, and there is also a tulip festival.
Разхождайки се из площад "Султанахмет", красивите лалета събуждат възхищение и аромати във всеки. Тук е сезонът на лалетата, има и фестивал на лалетата също.

Walking to the Egyptian bazaar (Mısır Çarşısı), took pictures of more old buildings and unique architecture. I last visited it more than ten years ago, and yes, it looked different, a bit more modernized and clean (not the entire place). With all the shops selling delights, spices, and teas, an uncommon one caught my attention. It was for baking & patisserie supplies. Indeed, leaving the shop with a full bag and a happy face was a natural consequence 😄. Nonessential to say, a few spices, ginger and lemon tea also found room in my shopping bag, and this was all I needed (until I found the other side of the bazaar).
Разхождайки се до Египетския базар, направих снимки на още стари сгради и уникални архитектури. Последно го посетих преди повече от десет години и да, изглеждаше различно, малко по-модернизирано и чисто (не цялото място). С всичките магазини, продаващи лакомства, подправки и чайове, един необичаен привлече вниманието ми. Беше за консумативи за печене и сладкарство. Напускането на магазина с пълна чанта и щастливо лице беше естествен резултат 😄. Не е необходимо да казвам, че няколко подправки, чай от джинджифил и лимон също намериха място в пазарската ми чанта и това беше всичко, от което имах нужда (докато не открих другата страна на базара).

🇬🇧 Since the Bazaar is close to the Galata Bridge, the idea of walking a bit further crossing the bridge came up naturally. Again a site I can relate to, having been there years ago with my mom. Galata Bridge Galata Köprüsü is a relatively small bridge, excellent for pedestrians and fishermen. Crossing the bridge takes about 10 minutes walk with views towards different passengers and military ships.
🇧🇬 Тъй като пазара е близо до моста Галата, естествено се роди идеята да се разходя още малко по моста. Отново място, с което мога да се свържа, тъй като бях там преди години с майка ми. Galata Bridge е сравнително малък мост, отличен за пешеходци и рибари. Преминаването по моста отнема около 10 минути пеша, с гледки към различни пътнически и военни кораби.

🇬🇧 On the way back to the hotel, another side of the Egyptian Market invited me again. This time it was the shops selling seeds and seedlings. Seeds from herbs, species, flowers, seedlings, everything was there, waiting to be picked up and planted. Earlier this year, before this trip, I decided to set a goal by growing some herbs, so as soon as the shops appeared in front of me quickly picked up six packages with seeds. (Actually, it wasn't that quick since the variety they offer)
🇧🇬 На връщане към хотела другата страна на Египетския пазар отново ме покани. Този път това бяха магазините за продажба на семена и разсад. Семена от билки, подправки, цветя, разсад, всичко беше там, чакаше да бъде взето и засадено. По-рано тази година, преди това пътуване, си поствих за цел да отглеждам някои билки, така че веднага щом магазините се появиха пред мен, бързо взех шест пакета със семена. (Всъщност не беше толкова бързо като се има на в предвид разнообразието, което предлагат)

🇬🇧 Crossing one of these small narrow streets, another shop caught my attention. Surely enough, I ended up buying a thing or two from them. It is not an item of desperate need, but as a big supporter of recycling and reusing materials, the idea of redoing old carpets into tote bags seems practical. And it only costs 2 USD. How can one not support this shop?
🇧🇬 Пресичайки една от тези малки тесни улички, друг магазин привлече вниманието ми. Разбира се, в крайна сметка купих нещо или две, от тях. Това не е нещо от което имах отчаяна нужда, но като голям поддръжник на рециклирането и повторната употреба на материали, идеята за преправяне на стари килими в чанти ми се стори доста практична. И струва само 2 USD. Как може човек да не си купи нещо този магазин?
So, if you ever wonder, what is the best thing to do in Istanbul, my answer will be to walk.
