Mikumi park or safari report

So, after a long journey, we arrived at Mikumi Safari Park, spent the night in a tent, and now had a delicious breakfast, looking at the jeep in anticipation of the upcoming pleasure...
What is breakfast? Quite adequate, I must say, it happened we ate worse. Fresh fruit, mango juice, perfectly cooked scrambled eggs - what else does a traveler need?..
We got a cool guide, he introduced himself as Samuel.
We ate breakfast, glanced at our escort, he glanced at us. In his eyes, no, no, and a laugh was slipping ...
The youngest member of our family fidgeted impatiently in his chair, he had no time for breakfast. After all, there, in the park, wild lions, hippos and zebras were waiting for him ...
Finally, the older generation deigned to finish their meal and the whole family headed to the jeep ...
And then the younger family member shocked his parents, phrases in English fell out of him! The young wildlife lover wondered if he would see a leopard, hyena, lion and others ...
The ranger smiled contagiously and said that he could not promise, but would make every possible effort to find the desired animal. I could not resist and entered the game with the question whether we will see a cheetah or a puma. The ranger's smile became even wider ... But what did he answer to my request - I suggest you write your options in the comments!
I was especially fascinated by his manner of communicating with guests, Samuel seemed to be telling fairy tales to the children before going to bed. I enjoyed his facial expressions, gestures, funny articulation. He uttered phrases in English in such a way that it seemed to give him excruciating inconvenience. For example, his zebra sounded like "zebla".
The description of the hippo asleep was especially hilarious. To prolong the ride, I asked the narrator additional questions. I don't know whether our charming guide guessed about my little trick or not, but he willingly, again and again with pleasure, depicted how the hippopotamus slumbers in a warm reservoir and occasionally raises its head in order to swallow another portion of air ...
Literally right after entering the park, we met a lion. He sat in the shade of a tree near the runway. Samuel explained that the lion is full and he is well - he is resting.
It all seemed to me somehow everyday. A meter from the door of the jeep sits a lion, lazily looks at you and yawns ... and such a huge sum of money has been paid for this!
Frankly, I then got the impression that these animals were tamed, they were specially fed like in a zoo, only without a cage or fence. And not far from the entrance to the park, a reservoir was dug to collect water. And now hippos, crocodiles are sitting in it, and everyone else goes there to drink for the fun of tourists. And all animals seem to be lazy, well-fed and peacefully coexisting. But suddenly...
But suddenly a herd of zebras leaves the watering hole in fright - elephants are approaching! All animals respectfully part, all except the crocodile, which continues to lie blankly on the shore. What will the elephants do? The leader cautiously walks around this slumbering leather log. A small baby follows the elephant... and then the croc makes a sharp movement trying to grab the calf by the leg. The female instantly reacts to the threat and ... the croc starts pretending to be asleep again.
Yes, everything is peaceful, for the time being ...
The sun is shining, birds are flying. And suddenly you see on the side of the road the carcass of an impala over which scavengers are already fighting. The jeep then drives past the skeleton of a large animal. Sun-dried bones turn white, a horned skull gapes with empty eye sockets. Samuel explains, "Two months ago, the lions killed a buffalo."
Rangers exchange information with each other over the phone. Samuel smiles, points to a lonely tree - "Do you see a leopard?"
None of us can answer in the affirmative. He brings us closer to the tree and we contemplate a graceful animal among the branches. The guide informs that we were very lucky. Usually the leopard is hiding. But this young predator is full and is now resting, allowing onlookers to gaze at themselves ...
The exchange of information between rangers is getting a new impetus. Samuel reports: 'An hour ago the lions killed a giraffe'
In 10 minutes we reach the scene of the incident. In the grass lies the huge body of a dead giraffe. Again Samuel asks, 'Do you see the lioness?'
Again, we answer in the negative. Samuel smiles, makes a small circle and drives up to a small lioness.
The predator sits at arm's length from me. The guide comments: "She ate all the way and is now guarding the prey. We are not interesting to her. But if you want to see the fury, go to the carcass of the giraffe."
After lunch, we ask Samuel to show us live giraffes, since we have already seen enough dead.
We cross the track, the landscape changes. And among the trees we suddenly see two individuals. But giraffes do not want to pose, they quickly disappear into the thickets.
Yet an amazing sight is the running giraffe. One gets the impression that this unsuccessful design is about to fall apart, a leg will break or a neck will fall off ... but no, this miracle of nature has a certain strength.
This wonderful day is over. We return to our tent full of impressions

Парк Микуми или репортаж о сафари

Итак мы прибыли в сафари-парк Микуми, переночевали в палатке, и теперь аппетитно завтракали, поглядывая на джип в предвкушении предстоящего удовольствия...
Что представляет из себя завтрак? Вполне адекватный, должен заметить, бывало, едали и похуже. Свежие фрукты, манговый сок, отлично сготовленная яичница - что еще нужно путешественнику?..
Нам достался прикольный экскурсовод, он представилсЯ как Самюэль.
Мы вкушали завтрак, поглядывали на нашего сопровождающего, он поглядывал на нас. В его глазах нет-нет и проскальзывала задорная смешинка...
Младшее поколение нетерпеливо ерзало на стуле, этому поколению было не до завтрака. Ведь там, в парке ждали дикие львы, бегемоты и зебры...
Наконец, старшее поколение изволило завершить трапезу и вся семья направилась к джипу...
Из младшего члена семьи вдруг посыпались фразы на английском! Юного любителя дикой природы интересовало увидит ли он леопарда, гиену, льва и прочих...
Рейнджер заразительно улыбался и говорил, что он не может обещать, но приложит все возможные усилия, чтобы найти желаемое животное. Я не выдержал и вступил в игру с вопросом увидим ли мы гепарда или пуму. Улыбка рейнджера стала еще шире, а что он ответил на мою заявку... я предлагаю вам написать варианты ответа в комментариях!
Меня особенно прикалывала у Самюэля его манера общения с гостями, он словно рассказывал сказки детям перед сном. Я получал удовольствие от его мимики, жестов, забавной артикуляции. Он изрекал фразы на английском так, что казалось это доставляет ему мучительное неудобство. Например, зебра у него звучала не иначе как "зебла".
Описание багомота, о том как он спит, было особенно уморительным. Чтобы продлить аттракцион, я задавал рассказчику дополнительные вопросы. Не знаю догадался ли наш обаятельный провожатый о моей маленькой хитрости или нет, но он охотно снова и снова с удовольствием изображал, как бегемот дремлет в теплом водоёме и изредка приподнимает голову дабы глотнуть очередную порцию воздуха...
Буквально сразу после въезда в парк мы встретили льва. Он сидел в тени дерева неподалеку от взлетной полосы. Самюэль объяснил, что лев сыт и ему хорошо - он отдыхает.
Мне все это показалось каким-то будничным. В метре от дверцы джипа сидит лев, лениво смотрит на тебя и зевает... и за это плачены такие огромные деньжищи!
Не скрою, у меня тогда сложилось впечатление, что этих животных приручили, их специально прикармливают как в зоопарке, только без клетки или забора. И недалеко от входа в парк выкопали резервуар для сбора воды. И теперь в нем сидят бегемоты, крокодилы, а все остальные ходят туда на водопой для потехи туристов. И все животные кажутся ленивыми, откормленными и мирно сосуществующими. Но вдруг...
Но вдруг стадо зебр испуганно покидает водопой - приближаются слоны! Все животные почтительно расступаются, все кроме крокодила, который продолжает тупо лежать на берегу. Как поступят слоны? Вожак осторожно обходит это дремлющее кожаное бревно с зубами. За слонихой идет мелкий слоненок... и тут крок делает резкое движение пытаясь ухватить детеныша за ногу. Самка мгновенно реагирует на угрозу и... крок снова начинает притворяться спящим.
Да, все мирно, до поры...
Светит солнце, летают птички. И вдруг ты видишь на обочине тушу импалы над которой уже дерутся падальщики. Затем джип проезжает мимо скелета большого животного. Белеют высушенные солнцем кости, зияет пустыми глазницами рогатый череп. Самюэль объясняет - "Два месяца назад львы завалили буйвола".
Рейнджеры обмениваются информацией. Самюэль улыбается, указывает на одиноко стоящее дерево - "Вы видите леопарда?"
Никто из нас не может ответить утвердительно. Мы подъезжаем ближе к дереву и созерцаем среди веток грациозное животное. Гид информирует нас, что нам очень повезло. Обычно леопард прячется. Но этот молодой хищник наелся до отвала и отдыхает, позволяя поглазеть на себя зевакам...
Обмен информацией между рейнджерами получает новый импульс. Самюэль сообщает: "Час назад львы убили жирафа"
Через 10 минут мы достигаем места происшествия. В траве лежит огромное тело мертвого жирафа. И снова Самюэль спрашивает: 'Вы видите львицу?'
И снова мы отвечаем отрицательно. Самюэль улыбается, делает небольшой круг и подъезжает к небольшой львице.
Хищник сидит от меня на расстоянии вытянутой руки. Гид комментирует: "Она наелась до упора и теперь охраняет добычу. Мы ей не интересны. Но если вы хотите увидеть фурию, подойдите к туше жирафа"
После ланча мы просим Самуэля показать нам живых жирафов, так как мертвых мы уже насмотрелись.
Мы пересекаем трассу, меняется ландшафт. И среди деревьев вдруг видим двух особей. Но жирафы не желают позировать, они стремительно исчезают в зарослях.
Все же удивительное зрелище - бегущий жираф. Складывается впечатление, что эта неудачная конструкция вот-вот развалится, подломится нога или отвалится шея... но нет, это чудо природы имеет определённую прочность.
Этот удивительный день окончен. Мы возвращаемся к нашей палатке полные впечатлений.
