The charm and beauty of the Temple of Heaven in Beijing

The Temple of Heaven

IMG_7451.JPG

Spiritual always has a symbol in the form of a shape or building that is visible to the eyes, which in turn becomes a tourist attraction. Though the spiritual essence is not physical. This is what I feel and think when I am in this place.

I was at this temple last winter, had I been there during the season or autumn, the beauty I saw would be multiplied in value.

Famous for its grandeur and distinctive architecture, this is the Temple of Heaven where kings prayed for a great harvest. This building was made during the Qing dynasty, its construction coincided with the creation of Forbiden City. I visited this temple while in Beijing on an occasion of cultural experience and learning. Being in the Temple of Heaven area feels like being in the 10th century or being in a colossal royal film. The scenery offered by this temple really captivates the hearts of the visitors. This temple has three main buildings: the first is the Fasting Temple, where the king worships the gods, The second is the Heavenly Temple, where the king prayed for a great harvest, and the last was an Open Space where the king communicated with the gods.

The tourists are always crowded, foreign and local tourists. The area of this temple is very large, approximately 200 hectares. What I like the most in this area are the lanterns, even though during the day they don't light up, the beauty value doesn't diminish at all, actually I don't know if at night they light up.

This building is full of philosophies that might easily be understood by architects and philosophers. While I just enjoy the outside, I don't really understand the meaning of exoteria that is contained in this temple (I mean the soul). I feel lucky to be able to see firsthand one of the legacies of this world's civilization.
