Cape San Agustin, Governor Generoso Quick Escapade

in Worldmappin2 months ago

Hi, fellow hivers! I missed writing travel articles. So for today, I want to share with you our quick escapade at Cape San Agustin, Governor Generoso, Davao Oriental. People usually call this place "Parola"

This place is one of the most visited tourist sites here in our place. It offers a view from the top of a lighthouse with a feel of the sea breeze from the Celebes Sea. This is one of the historical landmarks of Davao Oriental representing the Spanish era.

Upon arrival, there is an entrance where visitors love to take pictures.

And here's the view of the back of the entrance.

Then, on both sides, you can see the beautiful ocean view.

At the center of the area were the 3 lighthouses. These 3 have different heights.

Only 2 of these lighthouses are open for climbing and viewing from above. The one with an umbrella design which is around 80ft. from the ground and the one with an exterior spiral staircase which is around 50 ft. These lighthouses were built years ago and have been restored at present.

I tried climbing the spiral one but only until the 2nd level, I have the feel of "shivering knees" already. Of course, I did not try climbing the umbrella one because of the fear of heights and no one will watch for our kids (I have an excuse). So with that, only my husband and his friends went up and took pictures. He shared that the view from above is really nice. And I think, he is right as seen in the photo.

Nearby this place, there is an altar-shaped rock, of which I don't have a photo but I have a photo of this beautiful rock formation nearby. I took this photo years ago but they said, it is still there up to the present.

The view in Cape San Agustin is indeed relaxing and nice. It is a piece of Davao Oriental that we are proud of. Nearby Cape San Agustin are white and pink sand beaches that locales and tourists love to visit. So if you happen to visit Davao Region and you love sites like don't miss out on visiting this place. There is an entrance fee of Php 50.00 or around $1.00 which is also used for maintenance and salary of the workers.

I hope that you love this little sharing and thanks for the support.
