Gamla Stan, with its medieval streets, is a popular tourist destination in Stockholm. Once you enter the town, you will find many small alleys, which look like a maze.
My favorite cafe in Gamla Stan!
I come to this cafe to read books, eat sweets, and relax. Whenever I am feeling a little down or down, this cafe always cheers me up.
I left the old town and took a short stroll. This is Stockholm Stadhuset, where the Academy Awards ceremony is held. The building is very beautiful in the setting sun.
The building on the right is the Swedish parliament building. The building on the left across the river is the building where the Prime Minister of Sweden lives.
Old Town, where vestiges of the Hanseatic League still remain
Many remnants of the Hanseatic period remain in Stockholm's Old Town, German Church of Stockholm is one of them.

Even in the Kalmar League, which was an influence after the Hanseatic League, German influence was felt everywhere in medieval Europe, and whenever I find such vestiges, I realize that Germany is indeed an influential country in Europe.
The German Church is a particularly useful landmark when strolling through Stockholm's old town, Gamla Stan. The church's bell tower can be found from anywhere in the old town, and when you get a little lost, finding this bell tower will help you understand your location.
Under Kastanjen is a cafe and bar that I often go to when the weather is nice or when I go out for drinks with friends in the old town. This café is my favorite place and I often spend a few hours there on my days off with my iPad, books, etc. in my bag.

Gamla Stan, the old town of Stockholm, is where anime creators got inspired when they created animated film called "Kiki's Delivery Service". I like this cafe and come here whenever I have some free time.
I had some time to explore Gamla Stan on this day as well. The weather was nice at this time and it was a very pleasant time to stroll around the old town.
ハンザ同盟の名残が残る旧市街
ストックホルムの旧市街にはたくさんのハンザ同盟時代の名残が残っています。 ストックホルムの旧市街であるガムラスタンに残るドイツ教会もその一つです。
ハンザ同盟の後に影響力を出した、カルマル同盟でもドイツの影響力は中世欧州のどこの国にもあり、そのような名残を見つけるたびにドイツとは本当に欧州において影響力のある国なんだなぁと思います。
ストックホルムの旧市街である、ガムラスタンを散策するときに特に便利な目印となるのが、このドイツ教会です。 教会のベルタワーは旧市街からはどこからも見つけることができて、少し道に迷った時にこのベルタワーを見つけると自分の位置を理解することが出来ます。
天気が良い日や、旧市街で友人と飲みに行くときなどよく行くカフェ兼バーが「Under Kastanjen」という場所です。 このカフェはわたしのお気に入りの場所で、休みの日などiPadや本などを鞄に入れてそこで数時間のんびりを過ごすこともあります。
日本人にはなじみ深いアニメである「魔女の宅急便」のモデルになった場所がこのストックホルムの旧市街であるガムラスタンで、わたしはここが大好きでよく時間が出来たら散策をしに来ます。
この日も少し時間が出来たので、ガムラスタンを散策しました。 この頃は天気も良く、旧市街付近を散策するのたとても楽しい時期になりました。
