CUMANÁ: THE AFFLICTION OF THE IMPOSED LANDSCAPE / CUMANÁ: LA AFLICCIÓN DEL PAISAJE IMPUESTO
I was born there. Then we moved to different places. We went sporadically, on some vacations. At some point, my mother decided to return for good and dragged me along with her. I promised myself to get out of there, it was just a matter of waiting a few months until my 18th birthday. But I fell in love. At that age when everything happens to us. And I discovered a people, a landscape, a music, a gastronomy that make me be until the present.
Allí nací. Luego mudamos a diferentes lugares. Íbamos esporádicamente, en algunas vacaciones. En algún momento, mi madre decidió regresar definitivamente y me arrastró con ella. Me prometí salir de allí, sólo era cuestión de esperar unos pocos meses hasta mi cumpleaños 18. Pero me enamoré. A esa edad en la que nos pasa todo. Y descubrí una gente, un paisaje, una música, una gastronomía que me hacen ser hasta el presente.
Now I am a little far from the city, and I am accompanied by these images that I have defined as the affliction for that landscape that my mother imposed on me at the end of the last century. I want to share, in this space, a little piece of Cumaná that I keep in photographs.
Ahora estoy un poco lejos de la ciudad, y me acompañan estas imágenes que he definido como la aflicción por aquel paisaje que me impuso mi madre a fines del siglo pasado. Quiero compartir, en este espacio, un pedacito de la Cumaná que conservo en fotografías.
When we enter the state of Sucre, the landscape to our left takes over:

Then, the sun begins to seduce us, inclement during the day, but beautiful at sunset

We also exhibit the wonders of the sea in our museum. Here we can find a small antique submarine to explore the interior of the ocean, fossil reconstruction of giant and ancient species and even the exhibition of this beautiful but dangerous fish that escaped from The Florida Aquarium during a hurricane and came to our shores.
También exponemos las maravillas del mar en nuestro museo. Donde podemos encontrar un pequeño submarino anticuado para explorar la interioridad del océano, reconstrucción fósil de especies gigantes y antiguas y hasta la exhibición de este hermoso pero peligroso pez que escapó del The Florida Aquarium durante un huracán y vino hasta nuestras costas.

También comparto esa sensación de contradicción con la ciudad de "nuestros tormentos"; aunque en la nostalgia olvidamos un poco esas condiciones demeritorias. Gracias a usted, una vez más, por la visita y la valoración.
