A Journey to Serenity: A Tour in Cebu Taoist Temple.

in Worldmappin2 months ago
While there is a giant imitation of the Great wall of china, you’d not have thought you would eventually find in the heart of Cebu City. But that is the location of Cebu Taoist Temple , which serves as a retreat in the heart of the city. This temple hidden in Beverly Hills Subdivision, features a unique combination of Chinese architectural style and Filipino hospitality, which guarantees an unforgettable experience for tourists.

The huge wall replicas impresses you not just with its sheer size, but also with the attention to detail and warm colors that cover it. It's like going into another world entirely. Entering this gateway is like to entering a portal that transports one to a whole new era and location.

The temple's interior style and overall design is very beautiful; it is inspired by classical Chinese designs. As such, its architecture has deep colored as well as ornamented details that have wide and intricate carvings. The walls have dragon sculptures that sparkle as the light hits them. This addition alone makes the beautification of the already impressive structure more grandeur. The temple is a magnificent example of the aesthetic beauty and intricate details that Chinese civilization possesses and the skills that artisans of bygone eras had.

There is the library that has sufficient books related to Taoism and other aspects of Chinese culture which one can use to further understand the philosophy and religion of this ancient civilization. In addition, there is a little church used by worshipers for prayer and a gift shop for remembering the visit; the gifts range from traditional Chinese art to handcrafted trinkets.

None the less, from these aspects, perhaps the most captivating is the community which forms around the Cebu Taoist Temple and the activity that surrounds it. It's not uncommon for members of the faith to come to the temple to practice rituals and church service needs. I even was able to see a ritual from Taoism which is something unusual and you appreciate the diversity of civilizations there is always a chance going through the temple externals and observing the rich traditions of the people would allow you to see a traditional Chinese show.

In my opinion, there is no single thing that separates this temple from others I have visited, but rather several aspects that together form its unique character. It has no entrance fee, which alone allows people of all backgrounds to visit. The staff at the temple are smiling and helpful, ready to offer any assistance they can regarding questions about Taoism, its beliefs, and its customs. They extend their lofty compassion and readiness to assist regarding the meaning of this holy site.

The place was pretty when we visited 💗

Taoist temple is my first place I've travel with my sister , I think im second year highschool , as i can see now to your photos , its still the same the old days , I'm happy that they did not renovate that place , maybe because of the culture and tradition of chinese, and its free to the public , we can visit anytime , thanks for sharing ! have a great day ahead !

This is so nostalgic. I've been here when I was a child. 🤗
