Snowy Sapporo City, Japan

in Pinmapple14 days ago

After staying at a small village near a large ski resort. It was a nice change to be spoilt for choice in a big city again. The crowds and bright lights would soon wear off though after a long travel day  but exciting it was to be exploring a new place again.  Sapporo was probably the biggest city I have ever been in that was  pretty much covered with snow unless it had been manually or mechanically cleared away.

Our bus from Kimobestsu to Sapporo the biggest city on the Island of Hokkaido, A big island up the top of Japan only about 500kms from Russia.

The river was not frozen over but I am sure it must.

It was fascinating for this Australian to look out the window from your big city hotel and see snow falling.

The Sapporo Television Tower was visible from every where in this town. Built in 1957 at 148 metres it is no world record but it sure is a nice looking structure.

The next day was a travelling day starting with a taxi ride to the airport and a short flight for the next leg of our holiday.
