The Tinchi Tamba Wetlands is located about a 30 kilometres north of Brisbane in Bald Hills on the bank of Pine River. Queensland, Australia.
Tinchi Tamba are Aboriginal naming words meaning mangroves and Ibis.
I must have driven past this place a one thousand times. As it is located just off one of main roads north of Brisbane which hugs around and cross over the Pine River nearby. You get a nice view of the area when crossing the bridge especially heading south.
There are a couple of entry points in to the Tinich Tamba Wetlands Reserve one of them is at the Deep Water Bend reserve which is a popular picnic and fishing area.
I really enjoy the information sign boards, they really helps me get a better feel for the area.
Flat swappy mangroves area are not the most beautiful of places compared to ocean beaches and mountains but still always interesting to explore in there own way.
We have had a lot of flooding rains over the past couple of years and there appears to have be a lot of erosion.
Not an ibis (Tamba) but another type of Dart water bird.
The tide was out which exposed some some miniature mangroves (Tinchi)
Some evidence of the flood levels.
A blue Tongue Lizard. We did not see a lot of bird or animal life as we walked around mid day but I think there would be a lot more if you got here early in the morning.
We did it all but there was not much to see at the bird hide.
I think that is an Ant nest up in the tree.
A great short walk but that elevation gain can not be right as it was all pretty much flat.

That's cool! I love different landscapes. Around here there's still roaring flooded rivers and debris on fence wires from the flood heights..
Thanks 😊 and I hope you have good weather fir your 4wd camping trip.

My dad would love that place as he's a fisherman and the rest of family enjoys taking picnics in nature. Seems like the perfect spot to enjoy both of the activities for sure 😊
Definitely a great spot for the whole family
