The Square of San Juan de Dios located in the heart of Camagüey, Cuba, is a place declared a National Monument and is full of history and charm. Surrounded by beautiful colonial buildings, this square is one of the most emblematic destinations in the city.
The architecture of the square is a testimony of Cuba’s colonial past, with elegant balconies and brightly colored facades. The Church of San Juan de Dios, which stands on one side of the square, is an architectural jewel that dates from the 18th century and adds a touch of religious splendor to the place.
Around it you can find a Hotel with the same name that takes visitors back to that time, art galleries of contemporary Camageyan artists, various restaurants such as La Campana de Toledo where you can taste delicious Cuban food and endless colonial houses that make this square a unique place full of history.
This historic corner of Camagüey is a place where the past and the present are intertwined, creating a unique atmosphere and a lasting memory for those who are lucky enough to visit it like me. If you visit Camagüey, I recommend you stop by this beautiful square and enjoy our history.
