Rediscovering My Hometown – A Day in Kushtia

in Worldmappin4 months ago

‎Greetings to everyone. ‎I’m Nishan Ahamed.
‎‎Today, I want to share with you a travel experience that’s very close to my heart.
‎I posted a travel story before, but perhaps I made some mistakes, which is why it didn’t get much response.
‎I’m still very new to Hive, and I haven’t quite figured out all the rules yet — so if I’ve made any errors, I ask for your forgiveness in advance.

‎ A Sudden Call, A Sudden Departure...

‎A few days ago, I was napping one lazy afternoon when my older brother suddenly called:
‎"I’m in Kushtia — let’s go out for a bit!"

‎My brother and I are from the same village. We spent our childhood together.
‎Now I live in Kushtia for my studies, staying in a mess. It’s been a long time since I last visited home, and honestly, I was feeling down.

‎That one call from my brother lifted my spirits.
‎I felt the urge to escape the monotony of mess life and see the town through fresh eyes.
‎So, we decided — let’s visit Kushtia Municipality and Haripur Bridge — two of the most beloved spots in the city where people go to relax.

‎Kushtia Municipality — Timeless Beauty in Brick

‎We first headed toward Kushtia Municipality.
‎The place is old — aged red-brick buildings, shuttered windows — yet filled with silent stories of the past. ‎That day, this familiar old place looked surprisingly new.

‎A gentle breeze was blowing, people were walking by — some returning from work, others on their way to the market. ‎We just walked — no rush, no destinati.

‎Sitting by the pond, feeling the touch of the wind, silently observing the people — it all brought a kind of inner peace I hadn’t felt in a long time.

‎Haripur Bridge — Time Flowing with the River

‎Then we made our way to Haripur Bridge.
‎We stood there for quite a while. Ate some light snacks with my brother.
‎My hair danced in the wind, and I could hear distant bird calls.
‎The river flowed gently beneath us —
‎As if time itself was melting into its current.
‎So calm, so silent — it felt like I was finally able to breathe freely after a long time.

‎A Familiar Town, A New Feeling

‎In that moment, I realized something —
‎We often crave faraway places, mountains, seas, unknown cities.

‎But how often do we truly see our own hometown?

‎That day, I saw my familiar city through new eyes.
‎Spending time with my brother, standing in familiar places, walking beside the river —
‎That too, is a kind of journey.

‎I believe that travel doesn’t always mean going far.
‎Sometimes, travel is a moment — a breath — an awakening.
‎Something that stirs something deep within you.

‎A Few Last Words

‎This may be a short story, but to me, it means a lot.
‎Because that day reminded me — you don’t need much to feel happy.

‎A gentle breeze, a loved one walking beside you,
‎And a fresh look at your own town —
‎Let that be the best journey of all.
‎Let me know in the comments.

‎I’m new here, so your thoughts, feedback, and support mean the world to me.
‎Stay well, and love your own town.

Thank you so much for reading.
‎Hope you liked it.

Its a timeless beauty and the exterior simple but elegant. And the color easily catches my attention. Night view is stunning. Highlights the bridge. Have a wonderful day.

thanks mam🥰
