Hello everyone, how are you? I hope you are well. Recently, I visited the Indonesian Postal Museum located in Bandung City. Previously, I told a historical story about the post. Starting from the building, the first Indonesian post, and others. I feel that by telling this museum, the history of the Indonesian post becomes very complete.
This museum is not well-known enough in Bandung City. In Bandung, there are two very famous museums, namely the Sri Baduga Museum and the Geological Museum. These two museums are always crowded with visitors. For the postal museum, it is very rare. At most only students do educational tours. What are the stories in this museum?
In this museum, it tells the story of the beginning of the post in the world to the world. However, I need to emphasize that this museum has existed since the Dutch colonial era with the name of the Postal Telegraph and Telephone Museum. This museum is open to the public and free. There is no charge whatsoever.
What's in this museum? First, you will find a collection of stamps. In fact, the first stamp in the world is also told. In the past, this museum presented the best stamps in the world. However, since the world war, this museum has started to lack its collection.
However, the museum has started to add new collections. Starting from photos and things related to the post. As can be seen, there is a collection of postal motorcycles that were tasked with delivering letters or important documents in the past. Then, after Indonesia's independence, many took postal stories in Indonesia.
There is also the development of uniforms for postal workers from year to year. Oh yeah, the location of this building is close to Gedung Sate. What's in this museum? There are several letters on display. Starting from gold letters, and letters from a number of kings in Indonesia to the Dutch government.
Unfortunately, this museum is quite small. And is in the underground area. The most interesting thing is that there are postal stories in a number of countries. The thing that visitors always look forward to is seeing a number of stamps from various worlds.
If you come in a large enough number, you can ask to be told about the postal journey in the world to Indonesia. Finally, you can get free stamps. Here too, there is also a story of the postal journey until it became one of Indonesia's business entities. Starting from the board of directors' notes to postal equipment.
