En el sector de Veritas se encuentra el Museo del General Rafael Urdaneta quien fue un procer bastante importante de nuestro estado Zulia, que formo parte de la independencia de Venezuela y gran amigo de Simón Bolivar, Rafael Urdaneta nació el 24 de Octubre en Maracaibo Estado Zulia, durante toda su Infancia vivió en el Municipio la Cañada de Urdaneta que lleva su nombre.

El Museo de Rafael Urdaneta, preserva todo su armamento, estribos, revólver, escopetas, espadas, capitulos escritos con su puño y letra, así como también reseñas bibliográficas, como también galerias de pinturas y fotografícas de su vida, este museo fue construido sobres la bases de la casa de Rafael Urdaneta encima de un Cerro como se llamaba el Cerro Zamuro, funcionó como centro de salud, hasta que 1945 fue inaugurado el museo historico General Rafael Urdaneta, hasta la actualidad.

Al entrar al Museo Rafael Urdaneta, podemos observar la galeria de pinturas de Tito Salas, un famoso pintor que plasmo en sus pinturas la boda de Rafael Urdaneta con su amada esposa la misma se realizo en Bogota Colombia, también podemos observar la retirada de San Carlos para salvar la vida de muchas personas que se encontraban sufriendo.

En las siguientes salas del lado derecho e izquierdo del museo se encuentran los utensilios de cocina su familia como platos, tenedores del General Rafael Urdaneta así como también gorros, sombrero, armas de fuegos como pistolas, revolver, largas y también blancas así como diversos estribos. También se encuentra una galería fotográfica de diversas partes antiguas del estado Zulia, un dato importante es que se conserva intentacto el cálculo de renal que le ocasiono la muerte a Rafael Urdaneta.

Nuestro guía que pudo darnos todo el recorrido por el museo nos explicó detalladamente todo, pero nos dijo que prácticamente nadie visita el museo porque pocas personas les interesa. Para finalizar en 1936, fue nombrado patromonio historico cultural de Venezuela es un lugar hermoso y de gran historia, espero les haya gustado mucho esta publicación.

Qué interesante, no sabía que existía un museo dedicado a Urdaneta, y lo del cálculo renal es impactante jejeje. Es una lástima que poca gente lo visite, deberían convocar a las escuelas y liceos y ofrecerles las visitas guiadas. Gracias por compartir, ¡saludos!
