What is Gurudwara?

Gurdwara is a place where people of the Sikh community worship their God (Guru) people of any religion and faith can worship in the Gurudwara, there is no restriction of any kind for anyone. I like this very much about my country India is that not only in Gurudwara but in any temple, anyone who believes in God can worship in the temple there is not any type of restriction for anyone

  • There is a common thing in each and every Gurudwara presented in all over the India is that in every Gurudwara there is a Darbar Sahib where the present everlasting Guru of Sikh the sculpture of Guru Granth Sahib is placed on a Takth which is at a accurate Central position

It is a signal board that shows the way to the Gurudwara because this Gurudwara is presented on the top of Gwalior Fort and Gwalior fort is the establish in a very large area and also a tourist place, due to this new people come here everyday and so for that reason this signal board is necessary to show right the way to Gurdwara

This is the main entrance to the Gurudwara And this door and path only opens once in a year on the day of Guru Nanak Jayanti For the rest of the time, an alternate route is made on the side to reach the Gurudwara.

You will find these shoes houses in front of every Gurdwara and 247 a volunteer who belongs to the Sikh community presented over there to take care of your shoes and slippers because it is not allowed to anyone to enter in the precious place of God by wearing a shoes or sleeper and at the time when you submit your shoes or slippers in the counter you will get a token which is is a proof that you submitted your stuffs in the shoes house and they will not charge you a single penny to take care of your stuffs*

A beautiful message printed upon the surface of the container which contain handkerchief and is that (Please take a handkerchief from here) everyone who used to go inside the Gurdwara had to put a scarf on his head because no one is permitted to enter in the Gurdwara bare head you must have a clothes on your head because it denotes gesture of respect towards the God (I have also taken one and tie it upon my head)

❤Why I personally love Gurudwara and the people who belong to Sikh community❤

  • The best thing about the gurudwara is that langurs ( IN Langue the people of sikh community distribute food to the people who were presented in gurudwara) are run here everyday and do not know how many people's stomach is filled by eating langar every day, I believe that there is no greater virtue than eradicating one's hunger.

Beautiful series, this brings back good memories of that temple of my multiple visits there. But where are all the people? That places is always so crowded. Thanks for sharing.

You are right sir there were so much crowd presented in the Gurdwara all the time but due to the pandemic of covid and government guidelines there were very less people permitted to visit the temples at present....
And I hope that this condition gets better as soon as possible and everything will be as before @thijsvermeer and thanks a lot for sharing your thoughts
I have a question in my mind @thijsvermeer sir when you visited to India

I hope things return to normal as soon as possible too. 🙏

I've been many times to India, mostly Delhi and Gurugram area for work. But I always made sure to have at leas one extra day to visit Old Delhi, Chandni Chowk and Gurudwara Shri Bangla Sahib. I have visited the temple, and helped in the kitchen, every time since I first was introduced to the temple by a colleague of mine from work.

My last visit was November 2018. I took some extra days and visited Jaipur and Agra.

Wao.... Sri Bangla Sahib Gurdwara is one of the most prominent and precious place where everyone want to visit it is immensely beautiful and full of crowd all the time @thijsvermeer ❤🙏

Great friend, in the photographs the sky looks as if it were drawn in watercolor, thanks for sharing these images. It looks like a beautiful place and I guess it's very crowded.
