A 3 day retreat in Bacalar lagoon. A Mexico

in Pinmapple2 years ago (edited)

After two months in a very touristic and loud city - Playa del Carmen
I started to miss the nature and the silence.
So I booked a bus ticket to a small green city named Bacalar. I heard a lot of good things about this location and the nature was said to be beautiful.

To really relax I booked a tent next to the sea. I love to camp and be one with the nature. After arriving there, spending 2 hours in a very small but absolutely crowded 'Collectivo' bus, unfortunately the sky was very grey and dark... Now I have to sleep in my tent...Nice😅

It rained a lot in the night, I mean a looooot but it was calming and peaceful. Somehow I was very lucky, because it only rained in one corner of my tent...I stayed dry.😜

At the next day I drove to the big lagoon in Bacalar, this lagoon was created by the merger of 7 cenotes.

I read the whole day, went for a hike across the gorgeous landscape and continued to relax.
The next night was dry, no rain! Somehow I was a little bit sad about this...I liked the first rainy, stormy night...but ok, after the second night I was totally relaxed and took another ' Collectivo' back to busy Playa del Carmen.

It was great to get out of the craziness and into nature! The surrounding areas near Playa del Carmen are so beautiful, and I cant wait to find a new spot to do this again :)
