The Santa Maria Cathedral Museum in Tui is a space full of history and religious art, and offers a unique experience for those who pass by. This museum is located at the exit inside the cathedral, right at the end of the route we are guided through, which makes the visit even more enriching, allowing us to learn more about the past of the cathedral and the city itself.

Este museu encontra-se na saída dentro da catedral mesmo no fim do percurso pelo qual somos guiados, o que torna a visita ainda mais enriquecedora, permitindo conhecer melhor o passado da catedral e da própria cidade.
The Museum is a true window into history, where you can see artifacts dating back to different historical periods, with emphasis on the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. Upon entering this small space, we are welcomed by a serene atmosphere, which is complemented by various exhibitions of sacred art, liturgical instruments, reliquaries and objects of great historical and artistic value.

O Museu é uma verdadeira janela para a história, onde se podem observar artefatos que remontam a diferentes períodos históricos, com destaque para a Idade Média e o Renascimento. Ao entrar neste pequeno espaço, somos acolhidos por um ambiente sereno, que é complementado pelas diversas exposições de arte sacra, instrumentos litúrgicos, relicários e objetos de grande valor histórico e artístico.
One of the museum's most impressive items is the collection of medieval sculptures dating back to the 13th and 14th centuries. These sculptures are representations of religious figures, such as the Virgin Mary and various saints, and are an excellent example of the Gothic art that predominated at the time. In addition, we can observe oil paintings and wooden tablets that adorn the walls of the museum, some of which are by anonymous authors but of great artistic value, which depict biblical scenes and episodes from the life of Christ.

Um dos itens mais impressionantes do museu é a coleção de esculturas medievais que datam dos séculos XIII e XIV. Estas esculturas são representações de figuras religiosas, como a Virgem Maria e diversos santos, e são uma excelente amostra da arte gótica que predominava na época. Além disso, podemos observar pinturas a óleo e tabuletas de madeira que adornam as paredes do museu, algumas das quais são de autores anónimos, mas de grande valor artístico, que retratam cenas bíblicas e episódios da vida de Cristo.
Among the liturgical objects on display, several silver chalices and amphorae stand out, which were used during religious ceremonies over the centuries. These utensils are examples of the meticulous work of the artisans of the time, whose details, such as engravings and inscriptions, demonstrate the importance of religious worship and the devotion that the community had to the Church.

Entre os objetos litúrgicos em exposição, destacam-se diversos cálices e ânforas de prata, que foram usados durante as cerimónias religiosas ao longo dos séculos. Estes utensílios são exemplos do trabalho minucioso dos artesãos da época, cujos detalhes, como gravuras e inscrições, demonstram a importância do culto religioso e a devoção que a comunidade tinha à Igreja.
Another item that stands out is the set of reliquaries, which are containers used to store relics of saints, a common practice in the Middle Ages. These reliquaries, made of gold and silver, are true works of art and have a deep symbolism for the religious history of the cathedral. Some of them are accompanied by documents that describe their origin, which adds a layer of mystery to the visit.

Outro item que se destaca é o conjunto de relicários, que são recipientes usados para guardar relíquias de santos, uma prática comum na Idade Média. Estes relicários, feitos de ouro e prata, são verdadeiras obras de arte e possuem um simbolismo profundo para a história religiosa da catedral. We can also observe a vast collection of medieval manuscripts. These were used in religious prayers. In addition, we have the vestments used in religious ceremonies and rosary offerings used by important bishops.
