Your journey along eight kilometers of pure nature begins here. A trip through biology, geology, the history of life on the planet, written in the landscape. Beside us, the Paiva River flows almost musically, rising its flow in the winter period, extending the adrenaline of its white waters to the rafting and kayak adventurers. On the bank, the journey begins in the bathing areas of Areinho and / or Espiunca, and halfway through the path opens, in front of us, the little paradise of Vau's recreation and leisure area. A sua viagem ao longo de oito quilómetros de natureza em estado puro, começa aqui. Uma viagem pela biologia, pela geologia, pela história da vida no planeta, escrita na paisagem. Ao nosso lado, o rio Paiva corre de forma quase musical, subindo o seu caudal em período de inverno, estendendo a adrenalina das suas águas bravas aos aventureiros do rafting e do kayak. I had already read enough about this adventure, it requires good physical condition to do the 8km round trip! They recommended that we walk very early to fully enjoy what the passageways have to offer! you pay about 24euros for 2 people, children or pets are not allowed! Já tinha lido bastante sobre esta aventura, requer boa condição física para fazer os 8km de ida e volta! Recomendaram que caminhemos muito cedo para aproveitar ao máximo o que as passagens têm a oferecer! você paga cerca de 24 euros para 2 pessoas, crianças ou animais de estimação não são permitidos! The path of the Paiva footbridges can be started from Espiunca or from Areinho. All the guides recommend starting from Areinho. In this area you have to be careful, because, although the path is wide and is only about 500 meters, the walls of the gorge are vertical and high (181 m). And it is precisely from here, from where we will see the waterfall das Aguieiras. A waterfall about 160 meters high, coming from the Aguieiras stream, sliding vertically down a granite wall.😶
Nesta zona é preciso ter cuidado, pois, embora o caminho seja largo e tenha apenas cerca de 500 metros, as paredes da garganta são verticais e altas (181 m). E é precisamente daqui, de onde veremos a cascata das Aguieiras. Uma cascata com cerca de 160 metros de altura, proveniente da ribeira das Aguieiras, deslizando verticalmente numa parede granítica.😥😮😨
A viewpoint has been set up to observe both the waterfall and the winding staircase that we have to descend to reach the bank of the Paiva River. During the tour there are educational posters with QR codes to download information about the points of interest. Likewise, emergency telephones have been installed every 2 km.😁

At km 4 of the trail, we will see a suspension bridge, which has replaced an old boat that linked the terms of Canelas and Alvarenga. No km 4 do percurso, veremos uma ponte pênsil, que substituiu um antigo barco que ligava os termos de Canelas a Alvarenga. Não é necessário atravessá-lo, pois o caminho sempre segue pela margem esquerda do rio, mas as crianças adoram passar por ele. E junto a esta ponte, temos a zona verde do Vau. Aqui a força da água é menor, porque o vale se alarga. É um enclave ideal para fazer uma pausa à sombra dos salgueiros e amieiros e ainda, se o tempo permitir, dar um mergulho refrescante nas águas frias e cristalinas.😲😲🤯
