Namaste 🙏
Hope you all are doing great!!!
Today’s blog is going to be about the biggest water body inside of the Lodhi Garden. It’s right next to the main tomb (Tomb of Sikandar Lodhi) of the garden after which it’s named after.
To mark up everything, I have highlighted the area of the pond with light blue colour in the map below. As you can see it right next to the Sikandar Lodhi’ Tomb and is a little far away from the other architectural constructions inside of the park.
This is how beautiful it looked in real life. It was not a perfect shaped structure, but instead was irregular circular structure around which you can walk. In the photograph below, you can also see the signboard pointing towards the direction of the tomb of Sikandar Lodhi.
They were many fountains inside of the pond, which were spring water all the time, and it was looking really beautiful. Apart from that. This spray of the water was also cool down the around the pond to a great extent. There should be a difference of around 5 to 10°C in temperature when compare it to the other parts of the garden.
It looks like a perfect getaway to escape the heat of the sun in the middle of the day, when you are tired of walking in this huge garden. You can see people sitting on the side of the pond and having fun. We also decided to unwind and sit there for a while before proceeding to our next stop that was the tomb of Sikandar Lodhi.
The water inside of the pond was super fresh. It doesn’t look like a bond that was full of disease, water or viruses, but instead, it looked super fresh and felt super fresh too. There was a fragrance in the atmosphere when we were walking around this beautiful pond.
This fountains was sprayed so hard that even the tiny droplets we were getting on to ourselves when we were walking on the side. This was really refreshing experience after spending whole day in the sun.
After spending about 30 minutes there, it was now time to explore the last monument inside this beautiful park. Three4 of a day was already over and we didn’t knew how we spent it. Overall, it was a really refreshing experience sitting here.
I’ll be writing about the tomb of Sikandar Lodhi in the next blog.
That’s all for today.
Thanks for passing by.
Peace ☮️
