So it’s finally happening!!!
I am going on a 10 day trip covering various towns and cities of India towards Nepal in a super deluxe train called Bharat Gaurav. I’ll be going with my grandparents and we are going with a group of about 150 people. The tour is called Bharat Nepal Maitri Yatra by IRCTC and it’s one of the longest and best tour curated and created by IRCTC. It’s partially subsidised by IRCTC but is still quite costly. It’s divided on the basis of the coaches of the train and is priced differently. The average price per seat is about one lakh Indian rupees. Everything including travel and hotels are covered in this.
So we were given this warm welcome by the IRCTC officials at Safdarjung Railway Station and provided everyone with a muffler, caps and other identification props so that the group can be kept together. There was a complete platform dedicated for boarding the train and there was live traditional music playing at the platform.
There were mostly elderly people who were in the group and I was the youngest of them all. The train arrived after 30-40 mins after we came there and we boarded the train with everyone else. The moment we entered the train, knew that I was a one of a kind train. Super comfortable and luxurious. I knew that I will be meeting a lot of people here on the train.
In the photograph above you can see my grandfather and grandmother sitting of the couches outside our train cabin while I was arranging the luggage inside our cabin. The theme of this train was something that of a lavish restaurant and you could see that in the photos that I am posting here.
Now talking about the cabin, we booked second AC that meant we had two sleepers set over one another, but we were three people, so one sleeper was spare for the luggage inside of our cabin.
All the necessary things were provided to us including linens and blankets. There were a lot of facilities inside of the train. There was a place for showering as well that’s hard to imagine. Towels were also provided.
Now, as soon as we entered the train after half an hour, it was time for lunch in the dedicated restaurant inside of the train. You read it right. There was a dedicated restaurant side of the train, and there was delicious food that was being served there.
After having the delicious food that was provided to us inside of the train, we were so relieved that it was not time for some relaxation inside of the luxury cabin that we were present inside.
There was also a dedicated library inside of our coach from where I took this amazing book that I read for two hours straight. I was feeling the luxurious feeling of this strain.
I checked on my phone that the train was running at about one 50 km/h of speed, and still we not feeling that inside of the cabin. The journey was super smooth and it felt like we were inside of a hotel room.
The next offer was Ayodhya that we would be reaching in the morning. It was around 530 in the evening when I heard that tea was being served inside of the train, right in the place that we were staying in. What else can you expect?!?
I fell in love with this book so much that I have been reading this book for about four hours straight and I reached till the middle of this book until it was time for dinner again. I was not at all feeling like I was travelling in a train, but instead it felt like I was inside of a hotel room.
To my surprise, there was a place dedicated to the exercising and yoga inside of the train. That was something I was not at all expecting inside of even a luxurious train.
It was a big responsibility of taking my grandparents in such a long trip for 10 days, so I was preparing myself for it and also I was making new friends and meeting new people on the train and the kind of experience that was I was having inside of the train, was incomparable to anything that I had in past.
