So as promised in this blog, I’m gonna tell you guys about the story of this ancient place, first of all. According to the legend, this Stupa was built by Buddhist woman who was very dedicated to worship Lord Buddha around 2500 to 3000 years back. This area of Nepal used to come under Tibet and Buddhism was practice here.
But during that time, the kingdom swept and this Titan supermesy declined, so it was now in control of a Hindu king, but he allowed the people who were Buddhist to practice their religion.
They used to be that woman who used to worship Lord Buddha wholeheartedly. She requested king to dedicate her little land just as much as a skin of a buffalo to make a stupa. The king was very happy with the dedication of the woman and allowed to do that. In fact, king promised her to allocate the land required by her to make this project.
She was also very clever. She align the buffalo skin in such a way that it covered this whole area that was so huge that many people were reluctant to give such a big amount of land to that woman, so they went to the king and asked him to revoke the project.
But asking from her, the land so he did not refuse but supported her in this project. She along with some other people built this huge structure which was not a single day task. They had dedicated their lifetime to it, and because of that king was very happy.
And since then this Stupa is worshipped and is visited by thousands and lakhs of people every day. It was hit by earthquake in 2015, but was later recovered.
As I left my grandparents back at the starting point of this place with other old people and they were sitting on a dedicated space made for the older people. I was now tension free to roam around this area.
I followed the crowd and moved the direction, which everyone was moving. Everyone was going towards the inside of the sofa. I was amazed to know that we could also climb on top of it after removing our shoes.
I kept on walking until I reached the entry gate, which led to the inside of the Stupa. I climbed on top of it, and I was almost halfway on top of it, walking across it.
Now I was able to see up to a distance, and I really like the view which I was able to see from here. On one side, there was this huge tall big Stupa, and on the other side. You could see a lot of people walking across it and some people were even meditating there so it was a site that was well worth seeing.
I also spotted some little monks little children who were taking a group photograph. They were really looking very cute in their traditional clothes. They were all dressed in maroon colours as the traditional Tibetan clothes are as you can see in the photograph. How unique it looked.
Seeing the ambience of this place, many people come here for photography sessions as well. You can see a couple, probably of European couple or influencers dressed up in traditional Tipton clothes, they were perfect and were ready for their photo shoot right next to this holy Stupa.
People were revolving around this Stupa and were chanting the holy chant. There were many bells also tied up along this which you can see in the photograph below. The photograph with the bells are my personal favourite and these photographs are really close to my heart. I’m thinking of making one of these photographs a frame for my bedroom as it brings utmost peace to me.
Now, after all these, I took a little breath and sit there for about 10 to 15 minutes to absorb the positive energy that this place has to offer. I was just sitting there still with my eyes closed and opening it. Sometimes in intervals of a couple minutes was really feeling the positive and peaceful vibe of this place. In spite of being surrounded by crowd. I was feeling so satisfied and so peaceful that I cannot describe that experience in words.
I would like to end this blog by referring to the photograph that I captured above of the flying birds. As soon as I open my eye, I got glimpse of all these flock of birds right in front of me and seeing them. I took out my camera to take this beautiful picture that will remind me of the peace that I was feeling there when I was sitting there and just open my eyes to see this beautiful site that was in front of me.
Thank you all for passing by.
Peace ☮️
