In this blog I’m gonna post about my recent trip to Lahol valley in Himachal Pradesh. It was a motorcycle trip that I will remember throughout my life. Me and one of my childhood friend witnessed these divine majestic places on our bike in Lahol valley.
We started our journey from my hometown Manali and reached Udaipur after 4 long hours of bike ride. The above photograph shows the beautiful Udaipur town amidst beautiful mountains and lush green jungle.
Near Udaipur, there is an ancient Hindu temple of Mrikula Mata. It is believed that this temple was built by Pandavas around Mahabharat era. Situated at an elevation of 2700 m from sea level, this place is mostly covered with snow in winters and the roads are blocked so the best time to visit is around late summers.
I was not able to capture the photographs inside the temple but inside, there is a chamber made out of a single tree trunk with beautiful carvings containing the idol of Mata Mrikula.
After our visit to this magnificent temple, we headed towards another ancient temple, The Trilokinath.
This is the only temple in the world which is holy two both Hindu and Buddhist people. From Udaipur, it’s around 30 mins away. Enroute, we can see beautiful views of Lahol valley.
The above photograph shows a traditional Laholi village made on a tabletop rock. This view is magical as you can see. I wonder how different is it for the locals to live in such a beautiful and unique place.
We stopped in the middle of our journey to capture some photographs of this beautiful place.
As you can see, the beautiful snow capped mountains and high altitude landscape of Lahol valley was one of a kind.
We also witnessed is very old bridge made out of wood on the way to Trilokinath temple. I never saw that kind of bridge before. The planks were moving as we crossed them.
In this region, Chandra rivers flows. The photos below shows the mighty Chandra river in all its glory along with beautiful landscapes of the valley.
The rocks there looked like they were made after years of erosion from the water and extreme weather. They looked like cooled down lava to me. The matter of fact is that in this region, there is no volcanic activity.
The Chandra river looks beautiful and small but it is very dangerous. The water is always muddy and very deep. I even heard one story that once a bus fell inside this river and it was never found afterwards.
The below photos are of me having fun in this beautiful place.
After 30-40 mins of travel, we reached Trilokinath temple. As already mentioned, we were not allowed to capture photos inside the temple so I only have one captured outside.
Inside Trilokinath, there are two pillars with very less space which we need to cross when we want to do the Darshan. It is believed that those who get stuck while crossing are sinners and those who pass easily are good beings.
PS: I crossed without any efforts. 😂😅

This is not like an ordinary trip, seeing a different mountain where there is a mountain with snow and another with plants that grow very lush and green.
No valley can beat beauty of Lahual valley. I have been there a lot time and every time I go there found peace with Ghepan and chandra river.
