After having a relaxing night at our cabin at Bass Lake we wanted to spend the day visiting the famous sequoias, the giant redtrees of Mariposa Grove. We only had to drive 30 minutes from our accommondation until we entered this very special forest in the Yosemite National Park.
Nach einer erholsamen Nacht in unserer Hütte am Bass Lake wollten wir den Tag bei den berühmten Mammutbäume, den riesigen Redtrees von Mariposa Grove, verbringen. Wir mussten nur 30 Minuten fahren, bis wir diesen ganz besonderen Wald im Yosemite-Nationalpark betreten konnten.

Without spending too much attention to a map or certain sights, we enjoyed wandering between these impressive giants.
Ohne großen Wert auf eine Karte oder bestimmte Sehenswürdigkeiten zu legen, wanderten wir zwischen diesen beeindruckenten Giganten umher.

In addition to the Redtrees, the real stars of this landscape, one could find all kinds of trusting rodents.
Neben den Redtrees, den eigentlichen Stars dieser Landschaft, konnte man allerlei zutrauliche Nager ausfindig machen.

For me it´s always fun searching for some morbid details.
Mir persönlich macht es auch immer sehr viel Spaß, nach morbiden Details zu suchen.

And sometimes you get the feeling you just found the entrance to a fairy world (like @michaeldietrich in this picture)...
Und manchmal hat man das Gefühl, gerade den Eingang zu einer Märchenwelt gefunden zu haben (wie @michaeldietrich auf diesem Bild) ...

3 hours later, hungry and tired, we weren´t able to find the parking place, even though there were signs everywhere. Of course, finally we made it!
3 Stunden später, hungrig und müde, konnten wir den Parkplatz nicht finden, obwohl überall Schilder standen. Aber am Ende haben wir es natürlich doch geschafft!
