I can't believe I'm saying this again but I took my time in visiting most of Cebu's manmade attractions that can be completed in just one day. I could give you a list of excuses but I guess, there's always a right time for everything. Last time, I brought you to Tops, which was our 2nd destination that day. Absurd to not write things in order, very counterintuitive but didn't have enough energy to write a long post last time.
To start off, Buwakan ni Alejendra, which can simply be translated to Alejandra's Flower Farm/Garden, isn't located in Cebu City. More often than not, people think it's located in Cebu City for its proximity with other famous Cebu City tourists spots. It's already part of Balamban, a town in the highlands of Cebu Island.
This tourist destination never made it on my list of must-travel destinations in my Province simply because there aren't much physical activities you can do here aside from strolling around while taking photos and well, if you are phytophile or anthophile, marveling at the beauty of different ornamentals plants that filled the entire garden. But then, there are days when this place becomes a haven even for someone like me who don't like plants at all and today is that day!
Upon entry, vibrant colors welcomed us. It was refreshing to witness such liveliness that springs from every corner of the flower farm. Everything lit up, emotion and mood, when I entered this place!
There are several view points in the farm strategically created by the management for guests to maximize the view of the vast gardens.
But I'd say that the one that gives the best view is the one near the in-house restaurant/café located at the top top section of the farm. There's a cemented viewpoint overlooking the farm from top all the way down, even the neighboring lush mountain range of Cebu can be clearly seen from here. We took this opportunity to take group photos.
From the highest viewpoint, we started descending to the rest of the mini-gardens with their own theme that were scattered all over the entire farm. On our way there, we took more group photos at beautiful spots in the garden. Our driver/guide was in the mood to take countless photos; he was displaying his human drone skills until we told me one shot is enough.
When we reached the other side of the farm, we had a closer look of the magnificent gardens. Buwakan ni Alejandra is located on the natural steep mountainside of Cebu. To give guests a better experience navigating the farm, they constructed an elevated rainbow pathway from near the entrance all the way to the lower end of the farm, passing through a portion of a highly organized garden filled with trees, shrubs, flowers, ferns, etc. Looking at the gardens made me think of how challenging it was to build everything from scratch. How did they complete this feat?
We walked all the way to the other side to check out what was hidden the big tree.
As I mentioned beforehand, I'm not a plant fanatic but strolling here and seeing various kinds of nonflowerings and flowering plants made a huge difference in my mood. It's true nature calms the nerves in subtle ways; I didn't even felt until I found myself snapping more photos that I expected.
My boyfriend was screaming my name, excited to show me around one of the highlights of this trip. It might not be a lot from this angle but trust me, these pink and white flowers filled a huge portion of the garden. Honestly, I felt I was transported somewhere in Korea or Japan where spring brings about the blossoming of flowers. This was a great spot to take photos, too!
More photos I took on our way back to the top of the farm where the entrance/exit was located. Overall, I highly recommend this destination that's accessible via public and private vehicles. This is specially enticing for plantitas but I'd guarantee that even those who don't love plants and flowers can appreciate this beautiful escape not too far away from the city.

what a beauty place, so much colors to see and landscape too :D
The numerous flower varieties are arranged skillfully making the whole layout interesting to see. I don't normally see these flowers/plants in the local community, perhaps some of those come from outside the country. I'm sure every one had a great time observing the whole place and having their pictures taken.
