Similarly to you, I'm not a big fan of big cities, the rush, tourists around... But it looks like it wasn't as busy as you thought on your walk to the lake pier... The weather was fantastic for taking photos, with fluffy clouds and no hot sun...
It's great to see that despite being in the big city, the lake still has such a beautiful turquoise color!

I was surprised that, even though there were tourists at the most iconic spots, it didn't feel crowded and I was still able to enjoy myself. Chicago is great, and every time of year I've visited it has its own charm.
My son has already graduated and moved away, but who knows—life takes unexpected turns, and maybe one day I'll be able to visit again.
