RE: ROTUNDA - DOME OF MOSTA in MALTA 🇲🇹

in Worldmappin3 years ago

Back in 2011. when I was planning to change the country of living with my family, first on the list was Australia and NZ... when that plan failed, the next one on the list was Malta! The only disadvantage is that it's an island (at least, others presented us like that), but shortly, the offer for Spain came through and we went there... But, seeing these photos, and having some friends there, it wouldn't be the that bad pick at all... It's a beautiful country/island!

For a 200yo church, it is very well preserved! Thanks for sharing!

To be honest, we couldn’t get used to Malta. We tried really hard, but it wasn’t for us.
It was so dusty due to the construction everywhere… air quality was bad and not much nature left on the tiny islands. To get a rental also was hard and the prices are crazy. Construction everywhere and buildings do collapse due to wrongly build.
The company relocated us as they moved from Gibraltar to Malta. 150 people shipped over… nobody remained.
It is proper island living and you can see it all in a week so to speak. For a few years it would be ok and you just need to chose wisely what area to live in.
But on the other hand, for holidays I do recommend it, as it is so unique. So beautiful… So much to see and so much history. Structures older than the pyramids. Just imagine that. Beautiful architecture and lovely people. That’s cool to hear @ph1102 , funny how you ended up in Spain… we changed countries a few times. Soon number 6 🤓😉

We were there almost 1 year and the pandemic started, and we moved out during it.

The church is stunning, will share some more beautiful areas soon 😉😊
Have a great evening!

Thanks for sharing your experience of Malta! Now I don't regret not getting there, but, as you said, it would be nice to pay a visit as a tourist destination!

I got that from your posts! 😃 I could maybe change 3-4 times in a lifetime, but 6 is already a lot and you have time to change another 10-15 countries... 😂

Cheers!

You are welcome @ph1102 happy to share our experiences. Yes, for holidays it is amazing. When you do one day, let me know. I tell you the places to go to.

I know it’s a lot… hahaha 🤣 but it has formed me throughout my life, don’t want it any other way.
You could too… why not. I believe we are about the same age. 😉
I hope to stop moving countries after our next move, as I really want to settle down now. And traveling will be enough after that, just for holidays 😉

Cheers!
