My colleagues and I were thinking about where we would go hiking. The condition was that it had to be somewhere nearby, because after lunch we had to pick up the children at kindergarten.
I read on the Internet about the gorge, which is off the beaten path, wild and maybe a little dangerous. This is it! She was exactly what we were looking for.
The Voroblik Gorge is located in the Branisko Mountains. It is not even an hour away from us. We get out and leave the car parked at the tourist signpost in the village of Šindliar. Already on the way here, we admired the beautiful, almost untouched nature around.
We go according to what we read on the Internet. First we follow the forest road and the yellow tourist sign, and then we turn from it.
We pass through the ranch where the owner speaks to us. He asks us where we went. But he knows it very well. Huncútsky smiled and wished us a happy journey.
After a while we pass the last cabin. And here we are! We are located at the mouth of the Voroblik stream, after which the gorge is named. The entrance to the gorge begins with a small construction of a dam.
There are trees all around us and I can see how dark it is on my camera. It literally got dark.
We don't have to go far. Literally after a few meters, we see with our own eyes the difficulty of this hike.
Up, against the flow of the stream, we go one at a time. We walk carefully from step to step. After all, safety is paramount in such demanding terrain.
There are almost no technical aids to facilitate our ascent. No ladders or footbridges, as we can see in Slovak Paradise. Only chains and a few footboards are nailed in critical places.
At times I feel like Bear Grylls tackling gorges and waterfalls on my hikes. In short, it is beautiful and we all enjoy it!
We are climbing higher and it looks like we have already passed the hardest part. The gorge widened and we sped up a bit.
Ah, what did we find here? Adventure film with Bear Grylls suddenly turns into a thriller. I imagine what could have happened here. I let my imagination run wild. Kidnapping? Thieves and a chase with the police?
No, no, the explanation is very simple. This car has been parked here for several decades. Above us is an old forest road that had to be followed. The driver lost control of the vehicle and it ended up in a ravine. Apparently no one ever wanted to pull it out. And that's good. At least it served us as an attraction and I have nice photos.
One of the disadvantages of following an unmarked trail is that you can take a wrong turn and end up in a completely different direction than you originally planned. We too had this dilemma. At one point the gorge split and we had to choose where to go next. Fortunately, we chose the right path.
Part of the beautiful and wild nature in the Voroblik gorge are also mushrooms, for which the moist conditions in the gorge are ideal.
Whether they grow on wood or from the ground.
Time progressed and we got out of the ravine and the forest to the meadow. It's beautiful sunny weather outside and even more beautiful views. The Branisko mountain range is an unexplored area for me and I will definitely come back here. I was already looking on the Internet for other interesting hiking routes in this area.

Rozmýšľali sme s kolegami kam by sme sa vybrali na turistiku. Podmienkou bolo, že to musí byť len niekde v okolí pretože po obede sme museli ísť po deti do škôlky.
Na internete som sa dočítal o rokline, ktorá je mimo turistických chodníkov, je divoká a možno tak trochu nebezpečná. To je ono! Presne ju sme hľadali.
Roklina Voroblik sa nachádza v pohorí Branisko. Je to ani nie hodina cesty od nás. Vystupujeme a auto nechávame zaparkované pri turistickom smerníku v obci Šindliar. Už po ceste sem sme obdivovali krásnu, takmer nedotknutú prírodu okolo.
Ideme podľa toho, ako sme sa dočítali na internete. Najprv po lesnej ceste a žltej turistickej značke a potom z nej odbočujeme.
Prechádzame cez ranč kde sa nám prihovára majiteľ. Pýta sa nás kam sme sa vybrali. Vie to však veľmi dobre. Huncútsky sa pousmial a poprial nám šťastnú cestu.
Po chvíli prechádzame okolo poslednej chatky. A sme tu! Nachádzame sa pri ústi potoka Voroblik, po ktorom je roklina pomenovaná. Vstup do rokliny začína malou vybudovaniu hrádzou.
Všade okolo nás sú stromy a na mojom fotoaparáte vidím, ako je tu tmavo. Doslova sa zotmelo.
Nemusíme chodiť ďaleko. Doslova po pár metroch vidíme na vlastné oči náročnosť tejto túry.
Hore, proti prúdu potoka ideme po jednom. Kráčame opatrne z kroka na krok. Predsa len je bezpečnosť v tak náročnom teréne prvoradá.
Nie sú tu takmer žiadne technické pomôcky, ktoré by nám uľahčili výstup. Žiadne rebrýky alebo lávky, ako môžeme vidieť v Slovenskom raji. Jedine reťaze a zopár stupačiek je v kritických miestach pribitých.
Miestami sa cítim ako Bear Grylls pri zdolávaní roklín a vodopádov na svojich výletoch. Je to skrátka nádhera a všetci si to užívame!
Stúpame vyššie a vyzerá to tak, že sme najťažší úsek už prešli. Roklina sa rozšírili a my sme trochu zrýchlili.
Aha čo sme tu našli. Dobrodružný film s Bearom Gryllsom sa razom mení na thriller. Predstavujem si, čo sa tu asi tak mohlo stať. Nechám svoju fantáziu nech pracuje naplno. Únos? Zlodeji a naháňačka s políciou?
Nie, nie, vysvetlenie je veľmi jednoduché. Toto auto tu parkuje už niekoľko desiatok rokov. Nad nami je stará lesná cesta po ktorej muselo ísť. Vodič stratil kontrolu nad vozidlom a to skončilo v rokline. Zrejme sa nikdy nikomu nechcelo vytiahnuť ho. A to je dobre. Aspoň nám poslúžilo ako atrakcia a ja mám pekné fotky.
Jednou z nevýhod, keď idete po neznačenom chodníku je to, že môžete zle odbočiť a dostanete sa úplne inde, ako ste pôvodne plánovali. Aj my sme mali túto dilemu. V jednom mieste sa roklina rozdvojovala a my sme si museli vybrať kadiaľ ísť ďalej. Našťastie sme si zvolili tú správnu cestu.
Súčasťou peknej a divokej prírody v rokline Voroblik sú aj huby, pre ktoré sú vlhké podmienky v rokline ideálne.
Či už rastú na dreve alebo zo zemi.
Čas pokročil a my sme sa z rokliny a lesa dostali na lúku. Vonku je krásne slnečné počasie a ešte krajšie výhľady. Pohorie Branisko je pre mňa zatiaľ neprebádaná oblasť a určite sa sem vrátim. Už teraz som si na internete pozeral ďalšie zaujímavé turistické trasy v tejto oblasti.
