A beautiful day out here in the hidden vallyes of the Kullu Region of Himalayas.
It was around 4:30 PM in the afternoon when we.
Without any plans or any information decided to explore the hidden side of the portion of the valley. The Hallan Valley and the Fozal Valley through the ancient trails which now were unknown! Even we did not hand any information about the same as we met a local person he explained about the location and the ancient trail.
So it was a kind of a follow up of the previous post that I posted on Hive and it is about the exploration of the Ancient hidden village between the valleys.
Dachani
As we asked to a local person when we reached the end of the road about the place that where we were and answered that this place was know as Dachani. The Village that once used to be the residential location of the natives and the locals of Kullu and Manali Region called "Jheches' But due to modernisation and development of infrastructures the people had shifted to the plains and the places closer to the highway rather than leaving this hidden gem!
Even they were right, as Life over here was as harsh as it would not look live. The winters this place usually gets covered under a thick blanket of snow and the place being on the front side of the mountain faces extreme sunlight which makes it very difficult to see as the light reflects and the place experiences the winter season for more than 3-4 months. It was quite a harsh life guys. But it was really very peaceful over here.
The houses which were in the village were still of the traditional Kath Kuni architecture which was the traditional architecture of the Himalayan Houses. Built hundreds of years ago and still in a great shape and structure. The architectural design was to withstand and face the extreme climatic conditions like extreme winters and even withstand earthquakes due to their innovative and unique design.
Usually these house were constructed all of the wood, mud and rocks which makes it the purest materials of construction of the nature. the construction was as such that the balcony or the branda/ corridors outside the houses were filled up of dry grass which also uses as a storage place of dry grass for feeding cattle and also uses to isolate and keep the house warm.
There were hardly 5-10 people who were living in the village and were staying here and farming! Mostly they were the elderly people who used to stay connected to their roots/ the homeland.
It was quite a unique experience guys visiting such an ancient place and in a hidden location. It felt like that for a while I had came back in the time. No modern equipments just the traditional and simple life.

The little sheep. It was quite difficult to capture it 😅 The sheep was not still at a point rather hopping from one place to another. 😆

This place is a dream, what you tell us about the architecture is great, houses built with natural materials. In my country, we always see the Himalayas as a very spectacular place and your photos are proof of that. My favorite photo, the one of the sheep heh heh, how beautiful are the animals.
The little sheep, haha, it was quite challenging to capture—constantly hopping around instead of staying still 😅. I'm glad you liked the photos. The architecture was a masterpiece in itself and being so and so close to the nature.
