El domingo salimos muy temprano desde Caldas con rumbo a La Estrella. El punto de encuentro fue en La Valeria, un lugar tranquilo en Caldas donde empezamos nuestra caminata. Desde allí tomamos el camino hacia un sitio llamado La Soledad, y justo desde ese punto comenzó una subida larga y exigente.
El recorrido se internaba entre pinos y bosques espesos, donde el aire se sentía fresco y puro. Los paisajes eran realmente maravillosos, de esos que te hacen detenerte por un momento solo para admirarlos. Aunque me cansé un poco, valió completamente la pena. Para hacer esta caminata se necesita buena resistencia y, sobre todo, ir acompañado de alguien que conozca bien el camino, porque es fácil perderse entre tantos senderos.
En medio de la montaña hicimos una parada técnica para comer algo, tomar café y recuperar fuerzas. Luego continuamos por un tramo donde el paisaje cambiaba: se notaban zonas taladas y otras recién sembradas. Aun así, la belleza del lugar seguía intacta.
Después de varias horas caminando, llegamos a un descenso pronunciado. El sendero nos condujo hasta un sitio mágico: la Laguna Encantada, en el municipio de La Estrella. Apenas la vi, sentí que el cansancio desaparecía. El lugar parecía sacado de un cuento: rodeado de árboles altos, el agua reflejaba el cielo como un espejo, y el silencio solo se interrumpía por el canto de los pájaros y el murmullo del viento.
Mientras almorzábamos, nos contaron algunas historias sobre la laguna. Dicen que los antiguos habitantes del lugar la consideraban sagrada, un sitio donde hacían ofrendas y pedían consejo a los espíritus del bosque. También se habla de una leyenda muy conocida: la de una gallina de oro que aparece en las noches de luna llena, custodiada por una gran serpiente que protege los tesoros escondidos bajo sus aguas. Por eso la llaman encantada: porque quienes la visitan sienten una energía especial, como si el lugar guardara secretos antiguos.
Después de descansar un rato y disfrutar del paisaje, hicimos una actividad muy bonita en medio del bosque donde todos nos presentamos y compartimos nuestras experiencias. Luego retomamos el camino, cruzando riachuelos y pequeñas quebradas; allí aproveché para mojarme los pies, que ya estaban un poco cansados.
El sol empezaba a bajar y ya eran alrededor de las cuatro de la tarde. Llevábamos muchas horas caminando, pero cada paso valía la pena. Finalmente llegamos al municipio de La Estrella, donde descansamos un poco antes de emprender el regreso a casa.
Fueron cerca de 23 kilómetros llenos de retos, risas, naturaleza y aprendizajes. Un recorrido que me recordó lo afortunada que soy por poder seguir caminando, explorando y descubriendo lugares tan hermosos.

On Sunday, we left very early from Caldas heading toward La Estrella.
The meeting point was in La Valeria, a quiet place in Caldas where we began our hike. From there, we took the path toward a place called La Soledad, and right from that point, a long and demanding uphill climb began.
The trail led us through pine trees and dense forests, where the air felt fresh and pure. The landscapes were truly breathtaking — the kind that make you stop for a moment just to admire them. Although I got a bit tired, it was completely worth it. To do this hike, you need good stamina and, above all, to go with someone who knows the route well, because it’s easy to get lost among so many trails.
Halfway up the mountain, we took a short break to eat something, drink some coffee, and regain our strength. Then we continued along a stretch where the scenery began to change — there were logged areas and others recently replanted. Even so, the beauty of the place remained untouched.
After several hours of walking, we reached a steep descent. The path led us to a magical place: the Enchanted Lagoon, in the municipality of La Estrella. The moment I saw it, all my tiredness disappeared. The place looked like something out of a fairy tale — surrounded by tall trees, the water mirrored the sky like glass, and the silence was only broken by birdsong and the whisper of the wind.
While we had lunch, we were told some stories about the lagoon. They say that the ancient inhabitants of the area considered it sacred — a place where they made offerings and sought guidance from the spirits of the forest. There’s also a well-known legend: that of a golden hen that appears on nights of the full moon, guarded by a great serpent that protects the treasures hidden beneath the waters. That’s why it’s called enchanted — because those who visit feel a special energy, as if the place holds ancient secrets.
After resting for a while and enjoying the view, we did a lovely group activity in the middle of the forest where everyone introduced themselves and shared their experiences. Then we continued the journey, crossing streams and small creeks — I even took the chance to dip my feet, which were already a bit tired.
The sun was starting to set, and it was around four in the afternoon. We had been walking for many hours, but every step was worth it. Finally, we arrived at the town of La Estrella, where we rested a bit before heading back home.
It was nearly 23 kilometers filled with challenges, laughter, nature, and learning — a journey that reminded me how blessed I am to still be walking, exploring, and discovering such beautiful places.
