For this #wednesdaywalk challenge I wanted to share a series of captures I took last May, during the trip to the city of Zelenogosk and a day-long walk exploration of the local Baltic seaside. I have shared already pictures I took on that day, but not these certain ones.
It was the middle of April ...

...time when the snow have melted, but the grass did not pop up yet. Pretty cold, sun-less and clowdy. (The day have ended with a massive mist, by the way).

The slight shapes of St.Petersburg sometimes can be seen across the bay, on the horizon - when the weather is sunny. But not this time.

The typical landscape of the location: sometimes a bit of sand, and boulders most of the time in huge quantaties.

Found some last snow: a huge pile still survived at a cold shady spot of the seaside.

Take a step back from the beach - and you will get yourself into the thick decidious forest - turned into a swamp, completely impassable at this time of year. The only option is to walk along the shore, either on the beach or over large rocks.

As Spring is the time of snowmelting, the water level raised dramatically - even a small stream can become a serious obstacle.

And during our walk, we were faced with the need to cross one such stream which turned into a real adventure! Pretty memorable, I still happy and proud I managed to take a few captures. (Too bad nobody took a picture of me, taking over said stream).
Here I am coming to the purpose of my post. Finally, I processed a few of my captures (for the contest run by @chrislybear - this week the given prompt was 'traveling') and wanted to present to you.

So. Even small, slender streams turn into serious obstacles, and in some cases, the wisest decision would have been to retreat. But we are Russians we are stubborn and not of retreat-oriented sorts.

Hope you enjoyed walking with me. See you next time!

Thanks for walking with me, see you next time!

The photos are beautiful, and it’s clear that crossing the stream was fun! 😄 Hi, there!
It was An Adventure in the Wild Nature! Got a solid adrenaline rush personally, cause - I was holding camera and 70-200mm which is pretty weighty (my most expensive and precious lens), and... huh... - one can imagine dropping down into the water with all this stuff. I had no guarantee it will not go wrong. I could not pass the backpack to my wife. The risk was pretty real, hehe. It is this emotional charge, that solidifies our memories...

Да уж... упрямы... как в анекдоте - "чего там думать, прыгать надо".
А я бы вот сказал - сапоги надо надевать на такие прогулки1 :) сапоги. резиновые.
Я знаю анекдот про курсанта, банан и обезьяну.
