In some of my previous posts I have told you about the wonderful and diverse places that the Aragonese Pyrenees has, especially in the winter season because the snow gives it a particular magic. However, the spring season is already beginning and with it, little by little, the rocks hidden under these snowflakes are timidly showing themselves, giving new adventures to do in the same place.

IMG_20230416_124759.jpgIMG_20230416_131822.jpg

In this adventure we arrive at Valle de Tena, in a small but very beautiful village called Piedrafita de Jaca you will find this forest, which is nothing more than a valuable treasure of nature, since here we find a great variety of animals such as Renos, Bears, Deer, Wolves among many more, that we are watching throughout the tour in an environment of semi-freedom among its mountains.

IMG_20230416_121615.jpg

IMG_20230416_121829.jpgIMG_20230416_121635.jpg

This route through the mountain consists of about 4 kilometers approximately, some small mountain slopes, but very easy to walk and here you will have many surprises assured as we move forward.

Compilation of the visit from my personal YouTube channel

Starting our route we found some beautiful Gamos, some deer and wild boars in places completely delimited by each species without being enclosed, giving the feeling of being in an environment quite free and very well preserved.

IMG_20230416_123349.jpgIMG_20230416_123518.jpg
IMG_20230416_123531.jpgIMG_20230416_123400.jpg

Adding this type of animals that are its main attraction, we will also find many others that move a little more freely such as many Squirrels, some Rodents and many Birds of various species among the thousands of trees surrounding the mountain. It is also noteworthy that in this place there is a wide variety of perfectly preserved botanical species that serve as sustenance for these animals.

IMG_20230416_124040.jpgIMG_20230416_124344.jpg

IMG_20230416_145743.jpg

On the other hand, following the tour we also continue to find other protagonists such as some Reindeer, Bison and two beautiful and sleepy Bears Here we are told that this park also has a group of scientific and conservation responsible for monitoring the habitat of each species is in the best possible conditions.

IMG_20230416_145748.jpg

IMG_20230416_130741.jpgIMG_20230416_130906.jpg

And of course we have a third group of animals protagonists, with some structures dedicated to predatory species such as foxes, wolves and lynxes Borales All these animals were born in captivity, but in some cases have been born properly in Lacuniacha. Others of them arrived through a program of endangered or recovering animals.

IMG_20230416_125800.jpgIMG_20230416_130638.jpgIMG_20230416_130008.jpg

IMG_20230416_153720.jpg

Throughout the tour we will follow well marked trails, also we are informed with educational posters about relevant information of each species, as well as trees and floras is a very interesting option to enjoy with friends, family and as a couple, in addition to spending a fun day we can learn many important things about this topic.

IMG_20230416_151327.jpgIMG_20230416_151346.jpg

It is very surprising to find on the way some European Bison as they are very close to being in danger of extinction and have been kept in this place, in addition there are also some Prezewalski's Horses that are especially beautiful also included in this group. Whatever our goal in these magical places the idea is always to enjoy, be kind to nature and above all learn from each species. These protagonists undoubtedly bring us a lot of nobility and sympathy.

IMG_20230416_144413.jpgIMG_20230416_144333.jpg

As an extra surprise during the tour we find some amazing viewpoints, where we can admire how big is the Tena Valley and gives a breathtaking view of the mountain range surrounding the park and its fascinating mountain peaks. Tickets cost 18 EUR and can be purchased in advance on their website. https://www.lacuniacha.es/

IMG_20230416_141301.jpgIMG_20230416_141546.jpg

From forest and nature we jump to stone streets.

IMG_20230416_160711.jpg

Once we finished this tour we took advantage of the visit to the area and entered the village that is next to the forest, it is called Piedrafita de Jaca, it is a very small place but nevertheless very beautiful and cozy.

IMG_20230416_160646.jpgIMG_20230416_160632.jpg

Piedrafita can be defined as a real jewel hidden in the Aragonese Pyrenees offers a rest stop and good energy to any traveler who is passing through this town.

IMG_20230416_161207.jpg

They emphasize a lot the antiquity of this place since it dates back to 1203 and there is something so peculiar is that the inhabitants who live here are called witches as a gentilicio for a few legends of some anecdotes lived in the forest betato that is next to this place.

IMG_20230416_160851.jpgIMG_20230416_161120.jpg

The village is quite simple, at the entrance we find a small parking lot, it is surrounded by four main streets and serves as a meeting point for various mountaineering activities offered in the area.

IMG_20230416_160909.jpg

The first building that is noticed is the City Hall, a very beautiful building completely made of stones, highlighted by its flags of the town and its name engraved in iron. Then we find the Plaza Mayor in which stands a huge house that was formerly blue and that is said to be the house of Silvestre, the most popular of the area for these times. As usual in these villages of Spain does not go unnoticed his Church San Andrés and as main attraction is the beautiful view of the reservoir of Budal (I owe you the photos of this beautiful landscape) I will dedicate it for a next post.

TRADUCCION AL ESPAÑOL

IMG_20230416_140301.jpg
