El parque El Capricho se encuentra en la Alameda de Osuna- Madrid, junto al parque Juan Carlos I, no lejos del aeropuerto de Barajas.

Este hermoso parque lo mando a construir la Duquesa de Osuna entre 1787 y 1839, desafortunadamente la Duquesa falleció antes de concluir por completo el parque, aunque lo disfrutó y lo cuidó mucho su fallecimiento, este parque cuenta nada más y nada menos que con una superficie de 14 hectáreas, y tiene una forma muy particular, si y es que este parque fue construido en forma triangular ¿Interesante no?
En 1974 pasó a cargo del ayuntamiento de Madrid Su palacio o casa principal se halla en fase de rehabilitación para reabrir como museo en 2023.

Al entrar nos encontramos con unos caminos de tierra donde se puede apreciar mucha vegetación y encontramos una casa rural llamada Casa de la vieja construida en 1794 con una construcción rústica de piedra, que por los momentos está deshabilitada y no pudimos acceder.

Aunque ya existía un salón de baile en el palacio, la duquesa lo considero inadecuado para el momento y en 1815 hizo construir el casino que observamos hoy día, eligiendo para este casino una ubicación particular, y es que lo construyeron justo encima del pozo que alimenta el río. Este emplazamiento brindaba a la noble y sus distinguidos visitantes, la atrayente posibilidad de alcanzar el casino en barca, navegando por el río desde el embarcadero, capricho que sería con seguridad del gusto de todos. Debió ser fantástico entrar en una embarcación a un salón de baile que estaba decorado con un estilo neoclásico repleto de espejos y con una vista espectacular a uno de sus magníficos jardines, seguro era un atrayente de ensueño.

El río que recorrer todo el jardín tiene una longitud de Medio kilómetro, en la mitad del recorrido se abre en un lago que alberga como 2 plazas donde podemos observar un monumento dedicado al III Duque.

También podemos observar el embarcadero o casa de caña que recibe este nombre por ser una pequeña casa recubierta con cañas, y es que está construcción no solo servía para aguardar las embarcaciones sino también contaba con un pabellón de reposo que se abre hacia el agua y servía como comedor ocasional.

Luego llegamos al hermoso palacio que se encuentra en recuperación, por lo tanto, no pudimos entrar aunque es muy grande y amplio, usarán este palacio como museo del Jardín en honor a la duquesa de Osuna.

Seguimos recorriendo este parque lleno de historia con una arquitectura impresionante y nos conseguimos con la Ermita conocida como la casa del Ermitaño, es una pequeña construcción dónde cuentan que allí vivió 2 ermitaños, el último llamado fray Arsenio vivió allí hasta su muerte, de hecho hay una lápida en forma triangular dónde al parecer se encuentra la tumba con los restos del Ermitaño.

Otro de los caprichos de la duquesa era tener un jardín en forma de laberinto, este gran laberinto de arbustos en la actualidad cuánta con solo arbustos de laurel, para llegar al centro se necesita recorrer por lo menos 370 metros, y aunque no se sabe la fecha exacta de la creación de este magnífico laberinto se dice que es una de los primeros caprichos de la Duquesa, ¿hermosa verdad? Aunque no pudimos acceder me encantaría poder recorrerlo
