Dear friends of this beautiful community, Today I want to talk about my visit to the church of St. Nicholas de Bari, this church which I usually visited every Sunday when I was in the choir of the church, and in the parish catechesis at the time was like my second home, as my sister, my mom and I at the time participated in many activities, In which we spent several days a week to visit it and spend a pleasant time with other people, which made us learn a lot about their religion and its architecture is one of the main churches of Porlamar located in front of the Bolivar Square, on Margarita Island.

Queridos amigos de esta hermosa comunidad, Hoy les quiero hablar sobre mi visita a la iglesia san Nicolas de Bari, esta iglesia la cual normalmente visitaba todos los domingo cuando estaba en el coro de la iglesia, y en la catequesis parroquial en su momento fue como mi segunda casa, ya que mi hermana, mi mama y yo en su momento participábamos en muchas actividades, en las cual nos dedicábamos varios días a la semana a visitarla y pasar un agradable momento junto a otras personas, lo cual nos hizo aprender mucho tanto de su religión como de su arquitectura es una de las principales iglesias de Porlamar ubicada al frente de la plaza bolivar , en la Isla de Margarita.

Part of its history begins in the year 1833, a house built by Mr. Vicente Rodriguez, which was located on Guevara street in Porlamar, was used as the church of Porlamar. Because the primitive church of Porlamar was burned by French pirates in 1555. They also stole the bells and the ornaments of the church.
That is why in 1853 the construction of the new church of Porlamar began. It is worth mentioning that the governor of that year, General Francisco Esteban Gomez, seeing the monetary need that was required for the construction of this church, saw the need to ask the people of Porlamar for economic collaboration, and that is how the construction work began that same year.
Whose construction was completed in 1864.

Parte de su historia comienza en el año 1833 venia sirviendo de iglesia de Porlamar una casa construida por el sr. Vicente Rodríguez, la cual estaba ubicada en la calle Guevara, en Porlamar. Debido a que la primitiva iglesia de Porlamar fue quemada por piratas franceses en 1555. Los cuales también robaron las campanas y los ornamentos de la misma iglesia.
Es por eso que en el año 1853 se comienza con la construcción de la nueva iglesia de Porlamar, cabe destacar que el gobernador de ese año el general Francisco esteban Gómez, viendo la necesidad monetaria que se requería para la construcción de esta iglesia, se vio en la necesidad de pedir colaboración económica al pueblo de Porlamar, y es de esa manera que se comienzan los trabajos de construcción ese mismo año.
Cuya construcción fue culminada en el año 1864.

In 1897 a board of directors was created in order to raise funds for the continuation of the construction and remodeling of the church since it was beginning to fall apart due to lack of maintenance.
It is built with a neogothic architectural design, which has on its left side the parish house, this church is characterized for being one where the Carmelite mission was established since 1922.

En 1897 se crea una junta directiva con el fin de recaudar fondos para la continuación de los trabajos de construcción y remodelación de dicha iglesia ya que se comenzaba a caer a pedazos por falta de mantenimiento.
Es construida con un diseño arquitectónico neogótico, el cual tiene a su lateral izquierdo la casa parroquial, esta iglesia se caracteriza por ser una donde se estableció la misión carmelita desde 1922.

This day that I visited it, I was able to observe how beautiful they have it, they have been doing maintenance to the building. Internally this developed in the form of cross, has in its superior part with an area of Choir, this church is conformed by three ships, a central one and two lateral ones which also possesses a gallery of columns that support ogival arches with prominent nervures, with lateral accesses to each side which were highlighted in red color.

Este día que la visite logre observar lo hermosa que la tienen, le han estado haciendo mantenimiento a la edificación. Internamente esta desarrollada en forma de cruz, cuenta en su parte superior con una área de Coro, esta iglesia está conformada por tres naves, una central y dos laterales las cuales posee también una galería de columnas que sostienen arcos ojivales con nervaduras prominentes, con accesos laterales a cada lado los cuales fueron resaltados en color rojo.

Over the years sw to deteriorate but this year to keep it in perfect condition painted it very beautiful exposing every detail of neogothic architecture with a red color, veis and yellow that has both as in their ceilings and walls accompanied by a white background, all arranged and painted very delicately and without detail, all the sculpture of the saints in perfect condition and clean, I could see that they had the baptismal font even side of the church for the best view of the parishioners who visit this beautiful church. The only area that has not been worked on is the central cupola of the church where the very beautiful stained glass windows of the saints are, I imagine because of the difficulty of the height and that it is a job of great care.
This church has mass every day in the morning at 8 am and mass in the afternoon at 5 pm. On Sunday mornings they have several schedules because they receive the students of the parish catechesis who attend classes in the morning.

Con el pasar de los años se ha deteriorado pero este año para mantenerla en perfecto estado la pintaron muy hermosa exponiendo cada detalle de arquitectura neogótica con un color rojo, veis y amarillo que tiene tanto como en sus techos como en su paredes acompañado de un fondo blanco, todas arregladas y pintadas muy delicadamente y sin detalle, todas las escultura de los santos en perfecto estados y limpios, pude observar que tenían la pila bautismal aun lateral de la iglesia para la mejor visión del los feligreses que visitan esta hermosa iglesia . En la única área que no han trabajado es la cúpula central de la iglesia donde están los vitrales muy hermosos de los santos, me imagino por la dificultad de la altura y que es un trabajo de sumo cuidado .
Esta iglesia da misa todos los días en la mañana a las 8 am y su misa en la tarde a las 5 pm . Los domingo si tienen en la mañana varios horarios ya que reciben a los alumnos de la catequesis parroquial que ven clase en los horarios de la mañana.

As in the internal part, they have worked on the repair of the roofs and walls of the external part of its facades, as well as with the painting to achieve a better vision and expose the beauty of the architecture in this church. The facade was painted white and the architectural details were painted in a soft yellow color which in spite of its tonality highlights all the architectural details that make it beautiful and unique.
This church is named San Nicolas de Bari by the patron saint of Porlamar, which is why they are preparing for the festivities of San Nicolas de Bari to be held on December 6, which is celebrated every year as usual and helps to share beautiful moments in family 💜 full of peace and joy.

Al igual que en la parte interna, han trabajado en la reparación de los techos y paredes de la parte externa de sus fachadas, al igual que con la pintura para lograr una mejor visión y exponer las belleza de la arquitectura en esta iglesia. La fachada fue pintada de un color blanco y los detalles arquitectónico pintados de un color amarillo y veis suave el cual a pesar de su tonalidas hace resaltar todo sus detalles arquitectónicos que la hace hermosa y única.
esta iglesia es nombrada San Nicolás de Bari por el patrono de Porlamar, por lo cual la están preparando para las festividades de San Nicolas de Bari que se celebran el 6 de diciembre, la cual se celebra cada año como es de costumbre y ayuda a compartir en familia momentos hermosos 💜 llenos de paz y alegría.
