Today, I would like to show you a few architectural structures and stones left from the ancient city of Filyos and Filyos Castle in Zonguldak, my hometown, Turkey.

Filyos town, which is connected to the Çaycuma district of Zonguldak, is one of the beautiful natural harbors of the Black Sea. The town of Filyos, which is far from the city center, is beautiful enough to be considered a typical Black Sea tour for both tourists and local people.
TR Zonguldak'ın Çaycuma ilçesine bağlı olan Filyos kasabası Karadenizin güzel doğal limanlarından biridir. Kent merkezinden uzakta olan Filyos kasabası hem turistler için hem de yöre halkı için tipik bir karadeniz turu sayılabilecek kadar güzeldir.
Filyos Castle was built on a promontory overlooking the sea, and it is still thought to have been built by the Romans. There are the walls of the Medieval Castle and the remains of towers dating to the Hellenistic-Roman periods.
TR Filyos Kalesi kentin denize hakim olan bir burun üzerine inşaa edilmiştir ve Romalılar tarafından yapıldığı hala düşünülmektedir.Ortaçağ Kalesi'ne ait duvarlar ile Helenistik-Roma dönemlerine tarihlenen kule kalıntıları bulunmaktadır.

Filyos Kalesi ile daha çok bilgi sahibi olmak isteyenler Kültür Turizm Bakanlığının sitesinden çok daha eski ve güncel resimlere ulaşabilir. Bunlar benim sadece benim küçük bir gezi sırasında çektiğim resimlerdi.
My family and I used to go mostly for swimming on the weekends and we would have a wonderful fish feast. If you ever go to Zonguldaga, I would definitely recommend you to stop by Filyos.
