RE: Kokoda Trail - A life journey

in Pinmapple3 years ago

I took my kids to the military history museum here and one of the displays was about the Kokoda Trail. There was a tiny little display that was a very good representation of the track and what a freaking nightmare it would have been for a fully kitted out soldier to navigate (which you lot on the trek would have had some experience of having to lug all your gear).

Those "chocolate soldiers" did pretty well in that environment all things considering, it would have been tough for the fit "proper" soldiers x_x

Oh goodness those stories, always clean scratches if you notice them D: Even at home!

It's a good story Ry, especially since it's true. Sad though that it comes to that with humans though. War. Still, lucky we won, we'd all be dead or speaking Japanese now otherwise.

It's good to hear you've taken the kids to the military museum...Respect. I was heading to the AWM again in Canberra this year but...Pandemic. It'll happen though. Been too long.

It's part of history (an ugly part but a part nonetheless). Nothing good ever comes of revising/editing/omitting bits of history no matter how "good" the intentions ;D

shouldn't you be in bed XP

Yeah I agree. History should stand as a reminder. All history.

Am in bed. Just on the phone hiving. Can't sleep. 2325h here.
