I'm sure the architects that designed them and the people who commissioned/approved them think otherwise but I always feel like a lot (not all, just most) of the more modern/recent architecture has no soul.

Your Chinatown looks like...most of the Chinatowns I've been in but different XD I love just walking through the one here, haven't even really been everywhere in it yet (used to go there a bit many years ago but now I barely go into the city at all if I can help it) but it always felt more interesting.

Same here. It can be impressive and look cool, but that feeling quickly fades off and you don't feel at home so much, you just feel surrounded by big offices/workplaces covered in big panels of glass. That's not life, and that certainly isn't people.
