Hello Beautiful People! Rex here!
I am going to share with you our trip to Banyan Cold Spring.
It was a sunny Saturday morning when Flor and I had a long drive to the North of Cebu. Instead of going to the beaches, we decided to go to a cold spring.
BANYAN COLD SPRING RESORT
Banyan Cold Spring is a famous spring resort in the north of Cebu, specifically located in Barangay Maslog, Tabogon Cebu. Before it became Banyan Cold Spring, it was called Guiwanon.
ENTRANCE FEE
After 3 hours of traveling by motorcycle, we finally arrived safe and healthy. Then, we paid the entrance fee of 150 pesos per person. It is a bit pricey compared to other spring resorts. However, the place is well developed and with wide parking spaces, restrooms, and swimming spots.
Aside from the entrance fee, you'll have to rent the chairs and tables if you wanted to have a comfortable place to put your food and other belongings. As for us, we paid 10 pesos each for the chairs but we did not rent the table. You can rent them for 150 pesos 1 table and 4 chairs.
By the way, no corkage fee for food and beverages. Make sure to buy food before going to the place since there is no cafeteria or restaurant inside. On the other hand, there is a grilling station.
After paying all the necessary fees, we wore our swimming attire. I decided to get a lot of photos before getting wet.
THE THREE POOLS
Banyan Cold Spring has 3 pools. The owner developed the place by putting some concrete walls to give a pool-like structure.
FIRST
The first level is where the natural spring came from. We are not allowed to swim here to protect the main source of water and the fish living here as well.
The place is covered with trees that give shade to the spring. Look at this enormous tree.
SECOND
The second part of the spring is where you can swim. It has crystal clear water and when you see it, it looks shallow but it is actually very deep which is about 7 feet.
THIRD
The third level is the biggest and the depth is 4-5 feet. It also has bluish color with crystal clear water.
WATERFALLS
The last part of the pool is where you will see the man-made waterfalls and for Catholics, we have here Mother Mary's figure.
This is the last part of Banyan and the water here is connecting to the sea. We saw few small fish here as well.
After a long time swimming, we felt hungry and ate our hanging rice and chicken that we bought before getting here. We were really having a great time.
